I was thinking about this today while out on a walk and I'm curious.
Which KCSN (Chiefs coverage only) personalities are your favorite to listen to? The ones you actually exit your inner monologue about the state of our country and why your calf is sore to really focus on? The ones on the shows you prefer that you can't wait to get the takes of after a big win (or a loss I guess)?
Here's a list, but by all means if I've forgotten one add them in. I don't listen to every show myself. I'm going to give my list as a reply.
Kent Swanson
Matt Lane
Craig Stout
Tucker Franklin
Matt Verderame
BJ Kissel
Hayley Lewis
Matt Hamilton
Ryan Scott Hall
His Dirkness
Nate Taylor
Seth Keysor
Josh Brisco [Reply]
Craig Stout. He’s so so fun. Listening to him explain Spags defense in his “Summer of Spags” is a great listen. He was also extremely high on Hunter Nourzad at the East/West Shrine Bowl months before.
The best Chiefs listen by far is the Matt Verderame show on Patreon. It does cost $5 but it’s worth it. Dude is not gonna go full Kent Swanson homer brigade. He’s very reasoned and brings up advanced stats and then dives into the matchup conversation.
He also has a great knowledge of history of the game he talks about. Listening to him talk about how the Arrowhead became Arrowhead and also how players in the 60’s were part time plumbers/electricians in the offseason was great.
Oh and get the Verderame from KCSN out of your mind. That’s him talking to Tucker. His show is just him most of the time and it’s not like that.
His dad is really cool too. Love hearing his dad in their post game shows. He’s a huge Chiefs fan but he’s very realistic and even keeled. [Reply]
everything i've seen from that tucker franklin dude has been unimpressive. after the steelers game, he said "it's now been a year since the chiefs have lost a game" and the other guys tried to save him by saying "you mean a home loss?"
he looked real confused and then they had to remind him on air the bills beat the chiefs lol. [Reply]

He was giving some stat on Andy Reid one time, it may have been when he passed Hank Stram for all time wins in KC. He kept saying Hank StrOm. How does a Chiefs fan not know how to say that name? [Reply]
Craig Stout-Solid opinions and has always done the work to justify his takes.
Honorary mentinon- If Nick Jacobs was with KCSN I'd slot him here.
Seth Keysor- He isn't always right but does the work and has solid break downs
Matt Lane-Hes on track 75% of the time but occasionally gets so committed to take he cant walk away from it.
Kent Swanson-Matt Lane without small man syndrome ( I know Matt's not small)
Matt Verderame- pretty solid, but sounds much tougher than he looks.
Matt Hamilton- I like him for the most part he's not committed to any old takes from previous seasons or draft guides like some guys.
Tucker Franklin-Hes ok, seems to get most of his opinions from twitter
BJ Kissel- good stories, meh on the super homer takes
Hayley Lewis-knows very little about ball but puts solid segments together on the daily beat
Josh Brisco- decent host who balances a film guy with add and a fake beat guy
Ryan Scott Hall-dont like their pod
His Dirkness
Nate Taylor-Ive grown to dislike Nates takes and his I'm not sure if his insider info has ever been correct. I actually do like his discourse with the other members of OWG. I just think he's the guy someone in the org. feeds the wrong info to for disinformation. [Reply]
I'd also like to say I hate all the stupid ass pods that come with kcsn like Millionair mindset or whatever. I don't want that shit giving me notifications. WTF. [Reply]
Almost all of them are good for what you're looking for.
The Lab is great for prime, uncut analysis. Only Weird Games provides perspective and some insider information.
Verderame is just steaming, hot-out-of-the-oven shade, usually pro-Chiefs and informed.
Kissel, Tucker, and Lewis are all fine in their roles -- there just aren't as many calories in what they're doing.
The one thing I've never found interesting is AHPKC. I don't know what the point of listening to them is. I don't find them particularly entertaining, it's just like listening to fans. And if I want to do that, I'm friends with like a handful of superfans or I can come to ChiefsPlanet.
You neglected to mention The Process with Shawn Barber, and once again, that's just not particularly good. But it's usually released on a Saturday or Sunday, so if you're looking for content while doing yardwork or some such, it's a decent enough option.
Colquitt does a show like once a month, and that's pretty good stuff. Hayley Lewis keeps the train on the tracks and the guests are usually top tier. They had an Anthony Sherman episode that was entertaining and a Jared Allen episode that was fantastic.
I wish they'd bring back Jeff Allen and Mike DeVito. They also use to bring dudes in like the PFF dude or the dude from Bootleg Football.
Brisco seems to have learned some lessons from prior mistakes, isn't so quick to take semi-controversial stances with limited information. The Araiza thing was a mess.
Nate is still a fucking retard half the time and the other half he's just making shit up. It's fine but far from the best.
Lab won't ever be the same since Craig left and I think deep down Matt and Kent kinda are over each other but it's not too bad. Hamilton is a bad fit for the show, no chemistry there, not being a Chiefs fan is probably why. [Reply]

They've built a good channel, there.
Yeah I've tried SHawn Barber and Colquitt once or twice. Didn't like em either.
I love DeVito and Allen and there was another guy I'm blanking on who didn't play for the Chiefs but was alright to listen to as a former player. [Reply]

It does seem that way doesn't it? It's not as bad since Stout left. Lane must have realized Kent was all he had left and eased up a little. But for a while there I was surprised Swanson didn't just slam is computer shut during a live episode. [Reply]
