I was thinking about this today while out on a walk and I'm curious.
Which KCSN (Chiefs coverage only) personalities are your favorite to listen to? The ones you actually exit your inner monologue about the state of our country and why your calf is sore to really focus on? The ones on the shows you prefer that you can't wait to get the takes of after a big win (or a loss I guess)?
Here's a list, but by all means if I've forgotten one add them in. I don't listen to every show myself. I'm going to give my list as a reply.
Kent Swanson
Matt Lane
Craig Stout
Tucker Franklin
Matt Verderame
BJ Kissel
Hayley Lewis
Matt Hamilton
Ryan Scott Hall
His Dirkness
Nate Taylor
Seth Keysor
Josh Brisco [Reply]
I only watch/listen to Only Weird Games and AHPKC regularly. Both have their highs and lows.
I generally respect Keysor's film analysis. Josh is an entertaining host. Nate occasionally brings some actual beat writer insights. They sometimes get too slap happy for my taste, but overall I find it enjoyable.
I've listened to AHPKC for like a decade. I don't necessarily think they're the most knowledgeable, but I think of it being similar to what I'd expect of a couple of CPers started a podcast. Dirk seems to dig in a little more recently, while Ryan strikes me as basically just a casual fan. [Reply]
I typically only listen to Only Weird Games (used to listen to Time’s Ours) and the Postgame Show. I’ll throw one of the other shows on in the background if I don’t have anything else to listen to. I guess if I had to pick favorites it would be the Only Weird Games guys and Matt Lane. Don’t really care for Tucker and BJ seems like somebody I would not like in real life. [Reply]
Craig Stout - The best. Reasoned takes backed by very good understanding of Xs and Os wrapped in a likeable and relatable package.
Seth Keysor - See Craig Stout but with an Upper Midwest accent. Would love to hear him with Matty Lane and Kent on the Lab now the Stout is only occasional.
Kent Swanson - Knows ball, super positive, pie in the sky homer Chiefs fan. Don't love Rant Swanson though.
Matt Lane - Jekyll and Hyde. Knows ball as well as anyone on the network. Constantly searching for negatives. I wish he balanced that better. Personality is very unlikeable to me. Seems like a real douche.
Tucker Franklin - I like Tucker. I think he's a good host and has a fun personality for a podcast. Doesn't have the depth of knowledge of the others, but self deprecation is an endearing quality, and he has that.
Nate Taylor - Kind of like Matty Lane to me. I love his insider information he brings. Just quit doing the stupid fucking bits and deliver the information.
BJ Kissel - Tells good stories from his days on the sidelines but sometimes does too much of that. Good and putting things into perspective (being a Chiefs fan).
Ryan Scott Hall - I don't mind him. Seems likeable to me. Asks some good questions. I don't listen to every AHPC so I don't know him and Dirkness as well.
Hayley Lewis - She's ok. Don't love her don't hate her.
Matt Verderame - Has some ok takes, but something about his New York/Northeast accent makes me think what he is saying is inherently obnoxious.
Matt Hamilton - Out of his element. Doesn't sound like he knows enough about the Chiefs to be on a Chiefs podcast.
His Dirkness - Seems kind of dumb to me. Leans too heavily on statistics and then gives some really bad takes without considering matchups.
Josh Brisco - I'm not a fan. He sounds too much like too many guys I know who thinks everything they say has to be some layered joke and that they're always funny. [Reply]
Craig Sout is the obvious standout. Could easily be a national NFL media guy if he wanted to commit to that.
Swanson and Lane were good wingmen but on their own the Lab trails off. I’m sure they know it and Hamilton is just so below average as a Stout replacement.
I think Keysor is pretty good too but getting through an episode of OWG is painful given the constant blather. [Reply]

When Nate has some good soundbite he wants to share but it takes 7 or 8 minutes of him playing characters, doing voices, whispering, or disappearing altogether it really tries my patience. [Reply]

Agreed. I like Nate, but he tries too hard.
I actually feel like the entire podcast was better as Time's Ours because they only had audio. The three of them amplify each others' ADD on video. [Reply]
