Vikings receiver Jordan Addison was arrested in California late Friday on suspicion of driving drunk, just days after a teammate's death in a drunk-driving crash and nearly a year after Addison was arrested for speeding in St. Paul.
According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to reports of a car blocking lanes of a highway near the Los Angeles International Airport. Officers say they arrived to find a white Rolls-Royce blocking the lane, with a driver apparently asleep behind the wheel.
The driver, identified as Addison, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a short investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol.
In a statement, the Vikings said only that the team knew of the arrest.
"We are aware of Jordan Addison's arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident," read a statement.
The arrest was first reported by the Los Angeles Daily News.
Addison was arrested last summer for speeding on Interstate 94 in St. Paul.
In August 2023, Addison agreed to plead guilty to a petty misdemeanor for driving his luxury sports car 140 miles per hour. He paid a $686 fine and had his driver's license revoked for six months. [Reply]
If any of you have ever driven to or from LAX on the highway you know how INSANE this is to be just asleep on the highway in the middle of the lane [Reply]

It is just as likely that he was stuck in a traffic jam and fell asleep. It is LA and traffic is horrible there most of the time. [Reply]
Yeah that is possible. I admit I was also thinking in terms of the highway in that area not only being jammed all the time but also only two lanes and a person asleep there because they're wasted would make me go Falling Down on people if I was trying to catch a flight. [Reply]

Vikings are not cutting Addison unless he does it again for the 3rd time [Reply]

Lol, facts. When I was living in Corona and had to drive to Ventura for work every morning, I'd get stuck in multiple 'parking lots' every day. And more than once as I idled along waiting for traffic to open up closer to normal highway speeds, I'd look over and see some person sleeping behind the wheel next to me. Tbh, I nearly took a nap a few times myself. [Reply]

You're right, why would the Chiefs want literally the best WR in football when they have a guy who hasn't played a snap? Guess I'll go kill myself now [Reply]

If Chiefs wanted Jefferson then Chiefs would have called the Vikings and offer draft picks and players for Jefferson but they did not so it is obvious that Chiefs do not want Jefferson but if Worthy becomes better than Jefferson, hopefully you will shut up about getting Jefferson [Reply]
