Nzoner's Game Room>Vikes WR arrested on DWI
displacedinMN 07:48 PM 07-14-2024
Vikings receiver Jordan Addison was arrested in California late Friday on suspicion of driving drunk, just days after a teammate's death in a drunk-driving crash and nearly a year after Addison was arrested for speeding in St. Paul.

According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to reports of a car blocking lanes of a highway near the Los Angeles International Airport. Officers say they arrived to find a white Rolls-Royce blocking the lane, with a driver apparently asleep behind the wheel.

The driver, identified as Addison, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a short investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol.

In a statement, the Vikings said only that the team knew of the arrest.

"We are aware of Jordan Addison's arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident," read a statement.

The arrest was first reported by the Los Angeles Daily News.

Addison was arrested last summer for speeding on Interstate 94 in St. Paul.

In August 2023, Addison agreed to plead guilty to a petty misdemeanor for driving his luxury sports car 140 miles per hour. He paid a $686 fine and had his driver's license revoked for six months.

Ban him from the league and send Jefferson to the Chiefs is the only fair punishment IMO

Dude needs to grow up pronto.

On a sidenote, the article is a little misleading.

Uh, his teammate wasn't driving nor was he drunk, correct? Thought it was the driver of the other vehicle that was drunk, no? The article is making it sound like Khyree Jackson was driving drunk when he died. That's poor editing/publishing.

“It will never happen to me” mentality.

Okay, maybe I'm wrong here. I just would be a little more careful with writing that first sentence to make sure I wasn't in any way implying that Khyree was somehow at fault for what happened to him, that's all.

The kid (the recently deceased Khyree Jackson, not Addison) had family/friends that might take offense to how that line was written. Might. I would go out of my way to erase any chance of that, is all I'm saying.

I see what you saw. The sentence is grammatically correct but vague.

It should have said "just days after a teammate was killed by a drunk driver"

Not only drunk, but passed out behind the wheel while blocking an entire lane on the highway.

Launch this fucker into the sun. That is like next level drunk driving.

He was responsibly trying to sleep it off.

I'm not seeing the problem.
