He was the first HBCU player ever invited to the Senior Bowl, where, from all accounts, he held his own against top competition. The only HBCU player invited to the NFL combine also.
To note, the Chiefs reportedly spoke with him at the Senior Bowl. Scouting reports say he's athletic with great feet but needs to get stronger. I like the kid! It's hard to argue with the upside. All the tools are there. One to keep an eye on throughout the pre-draft process.

Massive with nothing but coachable flaws. For him to get a Senior Bowl invite speaks volumes coming from the SWAC. Good kid too ...personality sort of reminds me of Chris Jones. Seems like a student of the game.
I've seen him projected 5th and later but I could see some team being enamored with his upside (83.6 wingspan) and nabbing him mid/late 4th. [Reply]

That's the kind of frame you take a chance on. I wouldn't be mad. Best case he and driskell can be MASSIVE pieces to an upgraded line. [Reply]
Could be a great project. Kind of wonder how a college lineman’s knock is strength though. Like Broski your whole job is to be strong and in the way. [Reply]

Lol! That's definitely an odd knock for an OT. But I would assume the average NFL strength training.program is worlds better than Alabam A&M's. Thats what I like about him...all of his flaws seem correctable. If he was a finished project (or.close to it) from a D1 he'd be a top-5 lock given his size and natural movement skills.
However, barring a jaw-dropping workout at the combine and pro day, Im almost certain he goes late in the draft,.maybe as late as the early 7th as kccrow eluded to earlier. And though I'd be amped if he ended up a Chief, my gut says that he lands somewhere in the AFC East. Guess we'll see. [Reply]

Alabama A&M OT Carson Vinson is an entertaining interview and intriguing prospect. Says he loves playing chess and he likens football to a chess match. Also says he treated the Senior Bowl like a real game and went as hard as he could because you never know in football when… pic.twitter.com/H0q4OPLALI
