The offense in general seems to be struggling with running and getting open. We need to start running the bubble screens and quick slants for 5 yards. Mahomes just isn’t getting the time to find the deeper routes. 3rd and 4th and short are so much better this year than years past.
WR- Worthy still with the drops when the balls hit him in the hands. Hopkins, Hardman and Watson relatively quiet in the first half. Mecole really making that last play of the half super exciting, ran 85 yards running sideline to sideline and ending at the 50. He looked exhausted. Worthy was open in the back of the end zone Mahomes just threw it away (below). That was a great call to use Worthy’s speed to get us out of the shadow the EZ.
That Mahomes deep throw to Worthy was too far out of bounds, they gotta work on their deep pass connections. Also I hope Worthy is okay that elbow really impacted the ground hard on that play.
OL- Wanya going down, no replay, looked like a knee injury. Saw him on the bike on the sideline grimacing. Hopefully it is just a contusion. Kingsley immediately struggles on the first few pass pro plays. Wanya may not be great but Kingsley needs a lot of work. Almost 4 sacks in the first half (2 actual, one spin and throw and one negated by a penalty). The one negated by the penalty was lucky Kingsley just flat out got beat. Can’t have poor play on Patrick’s backside, that is a recipe for a disaster. First drive after half and Kingsley still struggling with allowing pressure. He just allows defenders to run right past him on the outside(below). Wanya got some Horse Cocaine and they put him back in the game.
RB – Hunt just keeps taking the ball and running hard. 116 carries since week 4 only Derek Henry has more. Unfortunately, like last week Andy abandons the run and Hunt only has 8 carries for 24 yards at Half. Hunt catching out of the backfield is what I have been waiting to see more of, Hunt was really good on swing and wheel routes when he was with us last.
TE- Kelce and Grey have been the entire Offense in the first half. Kelce ties record of most receiving TD’s (76) by Chiefs TE (Tony Gonzalez). Kelce has 6/7 receptions for 53 yards and TD leads all receivers at half. Hendershot gets his second reception from Mahomes in the 3rd. Mahomes sailed the pass to Kelce in the back of the EZ too…maybe the ankle is bothering him more than we can tell.
Def – McDuffie got pushed off of on that pass to put him a full step behind Sutton. Don’t know how that doesn’t get called (illegal contact)
Jayden Hicks continues to impress with his open field tackling. The Defense isn’t getting home with just 4 man rushes, our only real pressure has come from blitzes. I haven’t seen Uche out there yet but no one has really drawn my attention on the pass rush. Chamarri Connor has had a few great open field tackles as well. [Reply]
In before all the armchair quarterbacks talk about how easy the throws Pat missed were, having not been planted from the blindside multiple times and having the **** beaten out of them all day. [Reply]

I kept on thinking throughout the game our Offense HAS to be more than just Run-Run-Throw. But if LT is as bad as it is, that might be the only thing we can do.
But it hasn't just been LT, pass blocking in general this year has been pretty damn bad. Mahomes has been getting beat up, we're lucky he's as evasive as he is. [Reply]

I can't wait to see the Chiefs offense with Brown/Juju/Pacheco back, but not sure if we'll see that. It should be a much different team, even with the LT issues.
Good news is no serious injuries these last few games. [Reply]
