Nzoner's Game Room>Going Cellphoneless
HayWire 07:25 PM 07-03-2024
ive had a cell for the majority of my life. My first was a bagphone :-)

Over the years Ive wondered about getting by when we were younger and nobody had them. Most days I question the need for constant contact. Ive never been a phone snob and as long as could call and text I was content (bought a $75 phone at walmart and only pay 38 a month). Ive noticed that the only people i talk regulary is my wife and dad but since i started having health shit my wife works from home. If I did need to call someone my wife still has hers. Has anyone here gone without a cell? If so what are the downsides?

i have only went without a week now and havent even noticed.

Am I crazy to go phoneless?

Not having a phone.

That was almost as easy as "Any tricks to preventing/dealing with blisters"

Even though I use it quite a bit overall, I've always given myself freedom from my phone.

People tend to assume if you have a cell phone, it automatically means you have it on and at least see calls/texts in real time, even if you're busy.... I've always used do not disturb as much as possible, and especially with texts don't feel like I have to look at my phone just because it chimes.

So, in that sense, I don't think it's crazy. People know how to get a hold of you and if that's mostly what you use it for and don't need to come up with alternatives for a bunch of apps or whatever, then why have one.

that is one hell of a sacrifice.

You can have it, but dont let it rule your life.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. I still have my laptop, tablet, oculus, and wife's phone. 35 is pretty cheap but if I'm hardly ever using it then why not save the money and get a cheap hooker

But what am I sacrificing? It's not like I'm giving up all communication with the outside world.

Post on CP, email, watch a lot of YouTube when everyone else is sleeping, poker, golf.

I got one with the idea of "my reality sucks some days so I can make up my own"

A lot of Amazon shopping, got a few racing games, and I like to shoot people.

I'm not much of a gamer but VR is pretty cool
