You know, I don't get this. If he played for 10 years he should be set for life, even if he never got a top-tier contract. I can't imagine he's pulling in *that* much money on these seminars. $40 per person and I'd imagine somewhere around half of that goes to cover costs.

Why is he doing this?

Because the overwhelming majority of football players aren't known for their intelligence and money management skills.

that, or I really don't think it matters how much money you have; you've always got your eye out for more. And maybe the speaker fee isn't that much, but if he's in the KC area maybe he can lock up some engagement with local companies. There are large manufacturers in St. Joe who engage with outside contractors often, especially around professional development for employees.
