Nzoner's Game Room>Chiefs throwback matchups from the 90's
InChiefsHeaven 01:30 PM Yesterday
Here's a good afternoon time waster.

This popped up on my YouTube feed. Here's 3 games (the highlights) of the Chiefs from 92-94 I think. The Montana years. The DT, Neil Smith, Saleamua years. The Louie Aguiar and Lowery era. Back when the graphics were shit, the score was NOT on the screen at all times, the hits were probably penalties now...

Montana has a throwing motion that looks really strange to me, but I think the modern NFL QB is just different. Anyway, these are all Chiefs wins, so they are quite enjoyable!

9ers vs Chiefs at Arrowhead. I believe this is the newest of the 3. There are guys on the defense who I don't remember at all.

1994 MNF - **** Donks Forever!!

1993 Wildcard Win vs. Steelers

Enjoy. Sorry if repost. Your and idiot.

Also, was Willie Davis a POS? He has a ton of drops in these highlights.

The first Chiefs game I watched was that playoff game against the Steelers.

Little did I know they wouldn't win another home playoff game until 2018.

He was no Lake Dawson, that's for sure.

His claim to fame will.always be the guy who caught Montana's pass on MNF to beat Elway and the Donkeys with almost no time left.

For me, the MNF showdown was as memorable as any Super Bowl which was highlighted when Broncos players were giving Montana footballs to autograph when Joe was talking to Elway midfield right after the game.

His TD catch against the Oilers(!) in the playoffs was a thing of beauty. He made up for dropping what should have been a wide open 50 yard TD bomb from Montana a little earlier.

Willie Davis true claim to fame is he dropped a certain 50yard TD from Joe in the 93 AFC Divisional in Houston.

BUT

Later in the game he made a great play for a 50 yard catch that got the chiefs in scoring position. And then for his real, real true claim to fame, he made a great back shoulder catch on 3rd and 20 for the Chiefs 3rd TD. Truly a great throw and catch.

Loved that moment! I remember Sportscenter highlights called Montana the real Superman, in comparison to Elway’s TD drive, after that winning drive.

J.J. Birden had the best catch of those playoffs against the Steelers. An impressive catch even by today's standards, especially for a shorter player.

I also found the AFCCG loss to Buffalo when Joe got knocked the fuck out. I watched it...remembering how angry I was watching it live. Ugh.

Thank God for Patrick Mahomes.

Also, for an old guy, Marcus Allen was really fast, or he seemed like it anyway.

God, what a dark fucking day that was. I woke up knowing, I mean absolutely KNOWING, that we'd be treated to a Montana v. Young Super Bowl, and it would be the greatest thing ever. Instead.... we got the all New York shitfest. Horrible. Absolutely horrible. :-)

You'd have to Clockwork Orange me to get me to watch that turd again. Once was far more than enough.

Huh? The Super Bowl that year was Cowboys vs. Bills, part 2.
