Gaz didn't die; he voluntarily left because he felt the tone of the board had changed and become too virulent. Instead of making an "I'm leaving forever" thread he just stopped posting. He eventually posted once or twice in response to people asking about him, and then that was that.

I seem to remember someone saying that Mr. Blond was in prison. IIRC, it was someone who knew him outside the board.
