It started when CBS pulled from Dish and Direct TV so we were unable to watch the Chiefs games on Dish. At the time, Satellite TV was the shit, much like cable was 30 years ago.
Screw the viewer, CBS had an agenda!
The way I saw it, they were doing this to drive people to their streaming. I ended up putting up three antennas, one is dedicated to the FireTv recast box that htismaqe had recommended.
This year, it is my opinion, the local CBS station is reducing their broadcast strength from Springfield during the games. We will get a perfect picture all week from each of the antennas, even for pregame, then at game time, the picture either disappears totally or is crappy, forcing us to watch the game on Paramount.
Then the latest from them, last evening the FireTv recast guide had no information about the CBS evening programming, none, just said unavailable, so I was unable to set it to record Yellowstone!
Our Paramount didn't show anything past season one for Yellowstone being available, and even that was for purchase. Only Peacock was showing streaming of Yellowstone. But the local CBS station was broadcasting it after Tracker.
I certainly hate Paramount+. It is one of the shittiest, twitchiest apps we use, and even though we subscribe to it, about half the time I try to watch a show on it I get thrown into the screen blocking me because I'm not subscribed. [Reply]

I have watched 3 games on Paramount this year and haven't had any problems. That being said, you're right. It's a terrible app. It's slow and glitchy. [Reply]

That's probably exactly what I need to do. Up until now I hadn't been pissed off enough to deal with the bs that is bound to be involved.
I expect total ignorance on their end. [Reply]
This is probably also why the game didn't record yesterday. I usually record them all on the firetv recast box. I had set it to record the game in the morning as it showed the information then. I guess CBS is no longer providing the information to the guide.

Is CBS out to get us?
Paramount+ is shit, especially for watching football games. I tried it once and hated it. I'd rather stream it online illegally. [Reply]

I did that one game where CBS had blocked Dish prior to putting up antennas, but was not comfortable with a lot of the stuff, but it may end up being a better option in the long run. [Reply]

IIRC, you're using Fire TV as your streaming device. I suspect that MIGHT be the culprit. When I use Fire TV, I can have problems. But zero issues with Roku. I've pretty much "de-Amazoned" my house and I'm not having problems with Roku at all.
And I'm sure you've already tried this, but you might consider deleting and reinstalling the apps. Kind of a hail Mary but it's a thought. [Reply]

Sounds like your problem is not with CBS per se, but rather the local affiliate. (KOLR Channel 10 out of Springfield I'm guessing.) Mom lost that channel for a long time on DISH and it was a dispute with the company that owns KOLR and Dish, and not CBS directly. [Reply]

You are exactly right. I probably should have stated it that way. I think there are possibly several stations owned by the same group if memory serves me correctly.
But, since that is our CBS station, I kind of directed my hate to CBS.
I can't see how what they appear to be doing would benefit the local stations. In fact, I would think the local stations would prefer local viewership to watch on antenna due to the local advertising revenue.
I can however, see how CBS might mandate it or promote it to further grow their streaming agenda they have been shoving down our throats for several years. [Reply]
