Yeah, they have a golden goose in Caitlin clark. And as soon as the league realizes this and tosses the old guard to the woodshed, the league has a lot of potential. It’s the most embarrassing fumble in recent sports history. She is pulling crowds that legit compete with nba turnouts.
With NIL there is a new guard of women’s college basketball players who are actually legitimately fun to watch and know how to market themselves. The question is when the old guard of players and especially media will stop shooting themselves in the foot with a shotgun [Reply]

Bankrupt was the wrong word. They aren't making any money though and there is no profit in the WNBA.

Then why is the kc current successful despite pretty much no media deals? Expectation should never be that it’ll be anywhere close to nba money. But lots of leagues can be plenty profitable pulling smaller but substantial crowds. MLS did it for decades and same seems to be the case with NWSL. [Reply]
