Arrowhead Addict is a fun podcast to listen to these days and they were very critical of Andy not letting Pacheco take more snaps. Boggles the mind how this kid is played less than CEH? Shit, I can run better than CEH. That guy is horrendous at recognizing gaps and in those rare instances when he does, he runs like a freaken mule. No burst or speed. [Reply]
I don't know how many times I have to say it. Right or wrong, this is how Andy operates in regards to rookies and vets. A rookie isn't going to take playing time from a healthy vet. [Reply]

So, I will say Reid isn't soft, but as a group, our safeties are soft. I am so sick of watching Thornhill dip his shoulder in an attempt to tackle, instead of actually tackling.
I feel like our safeties play like extra cornerbacks, instead of like safeties. And not good corners, either.
Yes, Reid has been willing to get trucked, but he hasn't played great. And Thornhill seems lost, especially when he has deep coverage.
Thornhill had one shot at an interception, and that's it. The safeties of our past would have at least a couple of picks, especially playing QBs who like to throw deep.

I'm 95% sure injuries fucked his career. The guy was on pace for 1350 yards from scrimmage if he played 16 games his rookie year and with a good finish he could have been at 1500 yards from scrimmage.
He could have been pretty good, but was unable to overcome some tough luck. [Reply]

For all of the people that think a bad tackle can get a QB killed, a bad block by a RB can be just as devastating.
Pacheco hasn't whiffed on a block and is pretty damn good at it. He could be the best pass blocking RB in history, but since he's a rookie he's getting limited snaps. [Reply]

He hasn't been put in many situations where he's even had to pass block. His all-around game needs polish.
He'll get more snaps as the season goes on. Everybody just needs to be patient. [Reply]
