OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Crazy to think that this offense was known for being very horizontal for years now and it appears it will now be more vertical than any other.

Rightfully so given their personnel. Gotta let your players do what they do best.

And even if they did go deep, there's no guarantee that he'd be as effective as Alex Smith last year, who was arguably the best deep-ball passer in the league (that's still weird to write).

In other words, I was a believer in Mahomes' talent, but worried about how everything would come together for fantasy football.

Well, forget all that. Forget being level-headed. Mahomes threw it deep on one-third of his throws, completing well over half of them. There may be some regression coming there, but if you bought Mahomes, good on you. He should be good to go on Sunday against the Steelers.

Speaking of Alex Smith, he returned to his conservative ways on Sunday, tossing exactly zero deep balls. Game script probably played a role there, but if that continues, it should be a plus for slot receiver Jamison Crowder and tight end Jordan Reed.

KK has already changed his tune on Mahomes from what I heard on show on Monday. I haven't listened since...

Nice. I still stand behind the idea that while that's impressive, people see two highlight reels and think the guy was gunslinging. He actually played a relatively safe game. He can operate within an offense. I just hope that narrative doesn't get lost when he has an off game or two, which he will eventually.

Watching the difference between Tribisky and Mahomes- I think the Bears made a huge mistake.

He was always going to flip. That was his schtick from the get go.

Sports talk radio is the nut low and Kietzman is the nuttiest of the nut lows.

I'd rather listen to a transcribed version of Hootie's meltdown read by Fran Drescher.
