Got a couple nice KC Strips from Apple Market, got some home grown 'maters from my neighbor, and some really fresh sweet corn from the Independence Farmers Market on Saturday. Great big ears as big as your forearm and nice sweet juicy kernels. Coleslaw from Smokestack and my own BBQ bean recipe in a crock pot. Eatin Good in the Neighborhood tonight! Oh...and some hot spicy pickles from some company in Texas. They're sneaky hot! [Reply]
Grilled Italian Braciole—the way my family made it growing up. We didn't bake it in the sauce or use big pieces but smaller roller-ups on the grill and had in summertimes. These are rubbed with olive oil, then stuffed with seasoned Italian bread crumbs with herbs and then added parmesan cheese.
Ceasar Salad with homemade Caesar dressing. A blend of wild rice and orzo, broccolini, side of tomatoes with olive oil, red wine vinegar and parsley.
And to use up my fresh cherries before they went bad, I made 2 cherry turnovers for dessert.

Looks great. Interesting take on Braciole what gives it the "red" look? [Reply]

I have no idea why there's that reddish color on the meat. Didn't even notice it when eating it. Perhaps the lighting is exaggerating it. I do brush some Worcestershire sauce on top, but it usually makes it browner. [Reply]

You sure do win the prettiest platting contest hands down! :-)
Just finished a strip steak, cooked medium, with a wine sauce on top, half baked potato, sauteed yellow, orange and red bell peppers with onions and some white asparagus. Had a small field green salad with goat cheese, fresh figs and some purple onion in a raspberry vinaigrette sauce.
Sorry no pics tonight. Too lazy and too much to do today after being on vacation for a week. Like unpack, food shop and bunch of other things that haven't been tended to while gone. [Reply]
