And we…want him fired? You guys okay?
Wylie especially is surprising given that he...

blows goats.

Casuals do this every year. Find a coach they think is easiest to blame and call for his head.

How ‘bout that Connor Embree fella, can’t develop WRs for shit…

In all seriousness, a lot of these guys are either going to be players or they’re not regardless of their NFL position coach.

I always thought it was funny how Embree gets zero credit for Rice and Worhty developing so much as rookies.

Weird how guys develop better players they coach when said players are drafted higher and are more talented

I don’t pretend to know the truth of the matter, but we’ve had two epic pants-shitting offensive line performances in the Super Bowl within the last five years. One is embarrassing enough. Two is getting into absurd territory.

It cannot happen again.

Yeah, but Connor Embree jokes are funny. I'm going to keep making fun of him

All most word for word what we said about Bob Sutton, Andy's too loyal when it comes to his coaching staff

It’s Andy Heck’s fault that an OL composed of backups got embarrassed in the SB?

It’s Andy Heck’s fault that a backup G and G playing tackle got embarrassed?

Not pointing the finger at Veach bc 4 OL on IR is not his fault and finding a LT is even harder, but fuck me guys. That’s personnel, not coaching.

Well with the benefit of hindsight we do have to wonder about decisions made prior to these games. We not only had backups playing in LV but also moved guys around and had them playing out of position.

Same can be argued for LIX.

Either way, that argument would hold a bit more weight if everyone on the line didn’t get abused in LIX. Jawaan was getting his shit pushed in, as was Trey. And we all know Caliendo and Thuney were even worse than those guys.

Too much money tied up in the OL to turn in that sort of performance on that big of a stage against that caliber of opposition. Seriously, Carter is elite but guys were getting ravaged by Jalyx Hunt and Bryce Huff. Those guys are basically replacement level players. Josh Sweat is like an 8-sack-per-year kind of guy and we made him look like Reggie White.

Let's just cut all the veterans on the OL.

Who cares about the dead cap hit. We will just use players on rookie contracts and whoever we draft.

That way we won't have to worry about any embarrassing performances by overpaid guys.

Won't have to worry about being embarrassed on the big stage either.

What is Andy Heck's job in preparing an OL for the week?

I know each position coach is vital to getting players prepared to play, and a big part of that comes in the position group meetings during a given game week.

The OL was a mess in the SB. They weren't prepared for the defensive matchup and lacked any answer for what they were going up against. Heck deserves some blame, but would a better OL coach really have solved the problem or gotten them better to the point that the Chiefs could've had a chance to win?

Heck takes the gameplan from Reid and Nagy and coaches the guys during the week on that gameplan. He has some say in that gameplan, sure, but he's not a decision maker. He's a voice. If the gameplan is bad, it's the guys at the top. And on this team, he's got the OC telling him what to do and also the head coach who happens to be a former OL coach.

I just don't think Heck has the responsibilities on the team that people are blaming him for

And I also think people are unaware about how much worse we can get at OL coach, particularly since the coaching carousel was basically wrapped up when people started calling for Heck's head.

We would've been picking from leftover rejects and guys with not much experience.

That's not a risk I want to take when we're at a crucial juncture of trying to get a longterm starting LT coached up to be at least respectable.

This is a weird comment because I never suggested that

Exactly! Heck didn’t mold and create Creed and Trey, they had the skills from the gate. Now who do we blame for Treys regression the last 2 seasons? Let me guess Jawaan?? What about the current backup OL that despite a 2nd and third rounder among others can’t develop any of them to move into Smiths position, and save us 24 million this coming season? They aren’t capable of getting pushed back into Mahomes lap like he’s been doing lately?

It’s either poor coaching, or poor scouting/drafting. I understand we have some very late round picks there as well, but look at the rest of the leagues rosters, and especially OG and see where lots of them were drafted.

Quessenberry 6th rd, Cam Fleming 4th rd, Shaq Mason 4th, Bobby Hart 7th, Kelvin Beachum 7th, Dawkins pick 63, Raimann 3rd, Zach Tom 4th, Mailata 7th. And that’s not nearly all of them.

But KC needs a first round pick to potentially “mold into a starter”? The fuck outta here. We’re supposed to have elite coaches, but they were nowhere to be found on February 9th (aside from Spags) in NOLA. But we are supposed to give guys like Heck the benefit of the doubt? What has he done LATELY??

So instead we’ll waste 2 years of rookie contract on our “LT” so Heck can “mold him”? He needs snaps in game situations to develop. We would have had an opening at a slightly easier position to try to start the process, or even Wayna or Nourzad. But instead we’re gonna pay our RG an exorbitant amount for a single season, when that money could have helped with the other holes on the roster.
