Nzoner's Game Room>Off Season Lets Talk Guns, Part 2
HonestChieffan 11:58 AM 01-23-2011
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

On the one hand, that's cool. On the other hand, it's wasteful and potentially dangerous.

I guess that's the kind of shit you do if you've got more money than sense.

12 ammo cans makes for one heavy box, too. I'll bet the UPS guy was cussing me hauling it up to the porch.
Finally got all my ammo sorted and stowed away in the new cans. I could have used a couple more, but that's okay.

Made an offer on a Japanese Nambu Type 94 today. Didn't think they'd accept my offer but they did. Looks like I will be the proud owner of a 1944 Nambu 94 soon. Had to sell my Walther P38 to get it.

I get to use my C&R license as well. Gun will ship right to my house.

My 9 year old daughter went 2-2 and 5 year old son went 1-2 at 500 with my Ruger 6.5 suppressed.

Since I couldn't look through the scope to line up the shot they had to aim and pull the trigger. All I did was keep the stock steady and from bumping their face.

Rifle has very little kick with a Silencerco Harvester on it. It might be the easiest gun I have ever shot.

I can't wait for my suppressor to come in.

My Tavor has been approved by all the important people at my PD. Waiting on it to get put into policy.

You will love it.

It's very nice to shoot without hearing protection, especially if banging steel at long distances.

Tomorrow is month three. Hoping to get it by Xmas but I'm sure it'll be closer to a year wait.

My last wait was nearly a year.

It's like ATF subbed out the paperwork to Palmetto.

:-)

Nice. Lets be honest. It'd be a much longer wait than one year.

I've shot plenty without hearing protection.

That always amazes me....when I went through Basic (Fort Benning) they always had us wear ear plugs (had to carry them on our fatigues).

I got to Viet Nam - never used them again...Probably fired 15-20 THOUSAND rounds in combat, never used them...

Now? I go to the range and I wear ear muffs....go figure :-)

My best friend is Air Force security. When we go shooting, he doesn't bother with hearing protection either.

Yep! Looking back - it sort of makes me laugh...I mean, as a country boy I went hunting probably 500 times as a kid (with the old man). 12 gauge, .22, .243, 30-06 and never once did we use hearing protection.

Go to the Army and they want you to use hearing protection - until you go into combat....then they didn't give a crap... :-)
