Nzoner's Game Room>Space Exploration megathread
DaFace 09:40 AM 06-01-2014
Since a number of cool things are happening in space exploration these days, we'll widen the scope of this thread a smidge. Conversation about all things space exploration are welcome, whether it be from NASA, SpaceX, ULA, Blue Origin, or anyone else. Chances are most of the discussion will still be about SpaceX since they love to make things public and fun, but nothing's off limits. I'll eventually get around to modifying the OP to include resources for other companies too, but in the meantime, feel free to post any cool stuff you run across.

Better quality shots of the car. In the fairing this time, it seems.

I also neglected to post this from earlier in the week:

Space X mystery craft

Apparently they're trying some sort of crazy contraption (maybe a net?) to catch the fairing after today's launch. Who knows if we'll hear anything about it, but it's fun to see how out of the box they can go.

With FH on the horizon, this launch seems pretty blah. :-)

(As long as it all goes off well anyway.)

lol

Pretty much. I don't expect we'll get any coverage of Mr. Steve, but that would be very cool to see. If the theory of catching a parachuting fairing with a big net is correct that is.

EDIT: Although I always did like watching the IRDM satellite deployments. Wish they would mount more cameras so we could see all of them detach though, instead of just the one side.

Yeah, agreed. It's cool to watch them all pop off and float away.

This is awesome and hilarious. L.A. apparently had a GREAT view, and everyone's wondering WTF is going on.
