American Sniper was excellent, I don't care what your feelings are about Chris Kyle the person, because Chris Kyle the SEAL was one bad dude and he saved countless lives in Iraq.
Some very gritty and realistic battle scenes, its impressive to see how those guys actually operate.
Eastwood pretty much never makes a bad movie and this was no exception.
If anyone can watch Birdman and tell me it isnt a FANTASTIC piece of cinema, please do me a favor... go find your favorite Steven Seagal movie, watch it again, and then kill yourself. [Reply]

So much potential. But fell pretty flat. A few of the suspense scenes were awesome. There was one claustrophobia scene not too far into the movie that literally had me crawling up the back of my chair. The plot gets a little weird. Too much shaky camera. OK for a cheap scare....
I finally got around to watching this one today.
It started off great, I thought. I'm a huge fan of the alternate history adventure type flicks and the first half or so of this one delivered on that front.
It did get a little weird near the end, but that's to be expected.
Spoiler!
I'm still not entirely sure whether or not they came out of the manhole in a mirror image, "As Above, So Below" version of Earth.
I also wonder what was the black guy's rectification. That creepy white chick with the baby scared him down the hole but he didn't seem to have any chance at redemption like all of the other characters. What was he haunted by? Even Pap denied guilt until the last second before he was sucked into the burning car.
Overall I enjoyed it. It was better than most horror films these days. [Reply]

Have you watched C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America? It's alternative history that's a comedy. Its funny but kinda grew old after an hour.

How does Sami Gayle come across? It's weird how, watching her, your assessment goes from 'that's a boy,' to 'no that's a girl,' to 'she's actually a pretty girl,' to 'and quite talented to boot.'
