Nzoner's Game Room>Do you still believe is Mahomes and our coaching staff?
Red Dawg 02:50 PM 02-16-2025
I for one do. We have seen them rise up and shut the critics up enough to not lose faith. It was ugly and surprising for sure but the SB magnifies everything for some reason. Mahomes for sure is no quitter and neither is Veach and Andy. We will recover and be right back in the AFCCG for another shot.

On paper, there are few more talented teams than KC. Before the season, many posters thought the 2024 Chiefs would be the most stacked roster we've ever had top to bottom. It won't be easy to put a more talented group together. Just need another draft with some home runs.

Also, we were at full health going into the playoffs. Rice was hurt, but they made many moves to replace him bringing in Hopkins and Juju. No major injuries down the stretch to key players. It's hard to be that lucky every year with injuries. Look what happened with the Lions or Packers who lost important pieces going into the playoffs.

If you really are at that point where you're disappointed we don't win a ring every year, I don't know how to help you.
If you're not disappointed that we didn't win a ring WHEN WE'RE PLAYING IN THE SUPER BOWL, what are you even doing?

And you should be doubly disappointed if you made it all the way to the Super Bowl and played a perfectly beatable team, but lost due in large part to the head coach making the same dumb mistakes he's made in the same spot before. A gameplan that just assumes everything will be OK with the offensive line and then a lot of blank stares at the field when that doesn't prove to be the case.

The issue isn't that we lost. If we lost to the Bills at the last minute, sucks, but it wasn't our year. If we lost a close game to the Eagles, same. Oh well. There's a reason nobody's 3peated.

The problem is HOW we lost. Never even having a chance? Getting embarrassed AGAIN because Andy didn't learn anything from the first time? That shouldn't be OK with anybody.

Oh man, the Chiefs went to three straight Super Bowls and went 2-1. Their regular season record was 15-2. What punters. I've totally lost faith in them given that terrible track record.

Seriously.

3-Peat or BUST!!!!

If you want to break it down even further:

1st 8 years of Mahomes: Chiefs +5.43
1st 8 years of Montana: Niners +1.4
1st 8 years of Brady: Pats +6.53

EMBARRASSING THO

No middle ground sanity on this board as usual.

It’s either “blow everything up” or “all is well, change nothing”.

Andy was at the cutting edge of college spread in the NFL 8 years ago.

I just think we need some new blood to get his creativity going.

if only he was more creative he could be 25-0 instead of 23-2 :-)

We are winning games with defense and Mahomes freelancing now and then late or on 3rd down.

Offensive play calling has not been special last 2 years.

You said it's no longer time to be happy about being *just* successful. It's ring or bust every single year. You're setting yourself up for disappointment, dude.

We got blown out in the Super Bowl. Okay. What do we still have? Mahomes and Andy Reid? Okay then I think we're in a pretty damn good spot.

Loser shit is wasting another season of the best QB in a generation by getting blown out in the Super Bowl for the 2nd time in 4 years and going "Aw shucks! Well, it was a heck of a season! I certainly won't be asking any questions about how this could possibly happen yet again!"

That shit is how Carl kept the seats full. That shit is why grown men were cheering and high-fiving at the Eric Fisher pick.

According to recent discussions, some of the top available offensive line coaches include Conor Riley (known for his strong track record in college football), Mike Bloomgren (previously at Stanford with a reputation for developing elite offensive linemen), and Daryl Agpalsa (recognized for his ability to develop players even at smaller schools).

OR.... We could pick off Jeff Stoutland from the Eagles and promote him to assistant HC / OL coach

I guess the point is, do you still trust who we have on the team to get us back to that point?

Considering their track record, I'm willing to believe they'll figure it out. That's not "change nothing", that's more me saying "let's sit back and see how the offseason goes first."

Dude, I'm sorry, a Super Bowl appearance is not a wasted season. This is absurd.

I think we've definitely seen the maxxed out Mahomes. He is somewhat reliant on needing to use his fast twitch quickness to get out of trouble. He's going to be moving into his 30s. We aren't ever going to see A+ Mahomes ever again. Combine this defense of the last two years with any of our elite offenses and we roll.
