Look at what they’re doing to the best player in the game.
His own teammates are consistently sabotaging him on a weekly basis.
And now he’s finally emotionally coming unglued.
Just a complete embarrassment all the way around.
Total malpractice and an absolute waste of your biggest investment.
If Veach and Reid had any balls they would cut Toney tonight as he has now single handedly cost us not one but TWO games. I wouldn’t blame Pat if he went scorched earth in his presser. Someone has to hold these clowns accountable and if the FO and coaching staff won’t then maybe he should.
Either way this is unacceptable and shameful. [Reply]
I think there are two camps here. Camp-1 says that says because he was offsides nothing else matters and that's not wrong; then there's Camp-2, the deeper thinkers, who see the points Andy and PMII have made about the league's very terrible officiating of late.
For anybody who ever played the game and many who have been around a long time and watched football, they can tell Camp-2 is just raising both the issue of shitty officials and arbitrary choices about how and when to make calls.
We'll see how many holds on the O-line aren't called in tonight contest, and how the spinning wheel of excuses is used to excuse the officials for deciding to not call those holds.
Here's the current list:
1) It was a bang-bang play
2) We can't see everything
3) We can't call THAT at THAT point in the game
4) We were letting them play at that moment in the game
5) Players shouldn't allow bad calls to affect a game
6) Geeez we're part-time employees, this ain't even our main job
7) We're not perfect
8) XYZ is subjective
9) There's a hold on every play, we can't call them all or nobody would score
10) Radio silence

Camp 3 says you're a fucking retard, and so is Precarious Jabroni. [Reply]

I’m of the opinion that this roster/team is going through the same slump that SF had earlier in the year. And that Buffalo was going through. Guys get hurt, guys are beat up from a long season. Toney’s mistake was just one of many that cost them.
It may have cost the Chiefs HFA, but the floor for this team is still the AFCCG. [Reply]

The OP has taken the #1 Chiefsplanet moron spot from these two. Think about that for a minute. [Reply]

We've seen MVS play better, albeit sporadically, the same with Toney and Hardman. The offense just looks absolutely broken now. It's not just terrible execution at this point, it's a lack of discipline, poor body-language. I get that that comes from losing and playing badly, but I keep asking - what is the point of Nagy and coaches like Embree if not to keep players motivated and focused, and to ensure they're in a position to succeed. I get these guys can't stop people dropping the ball, but there is not a single aspect of this offense that hasn't taken a step back, including the IOL.
Nagy is back next year, there's no way he gets booted but I honestly cannot see his appeal. It's a sloppy, ill-disciplined, lethargic, limited offense and there's no way it should be that way, even with the dross at WR, imo.
I just don’t see that. The thing is that all these guys other than skyy havent been great elsewhere.
Nobody wanted mecole and the team that did wanted him out in a half season
Mvs was barely productive with a HOF qb and watson was outright cut
We knew Toney and James came with this kind of baggage
The major difference is that Mvs boomed big and at just the right moments last year. His play otherwise was very unspectacular.
I still think the issue is way more about a brighter spotlight on these guys because we foolishly elevated all these guys to bigger roles than they’re capable of. And now their confidence is down the tubes. The coaching issues worry me too but we’ve known Reid for far too long to believe his offense regardless of who the assistants are won’t clean it up… if they had the talent to [Reply]
The fucking dude's foot was a good foot past the ball. I like that Mahomes and Reid want to call out the refs, but Toney needs absolutely fucking tore apart in the locker room. He's the dip shit that lined up so far across the ball. [Reply]

How does no other player or coach see that either? [Reply]

pre-SB 54 it was not like this

Wanna be even more upset…. Toney not once checked with the ref. Even rice who is a rookie checked with the ref at top of the screen
I don't think they should be 'ashamed,' necessarily, because they made a lot of good choices over the last 6 years that helped the team win a couple SBs, but they should definitely re-examine whatever their self-scouting protocols are, in regard to offensive skill players, because thinking they could just run it back with this WR room was risky af from the start, and they're on the brink of wasting not only a prime Mahomes season, but perhaps Travis' last year or two as the GOAT TE.
You're welcome for the extra convoluted run-on sentence. [Reply]
