Nzoner's Game Room>Rodgers to Jets
Hammock Parties 02:20 PM 04-24-2023

Trade compensation, per sources:

Jets get:
🏈Aaron Rodgers, pick No. 15, a 2023 5th-rd pick (No. 170).

Packers get:
🏈Pick No. 13, a 2023 2nd-rd pick (No. 42), a 6th-rd pick (No. 207), a conditional 2024 2nd-rd pick that becomes a 1st if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays. pic.twitter.com/Q2vUMfyZGH

And no matter how much you want to cry about GB's front office they didn't throw all those INT's in the NFCCG's the last 4 times they made it.

Rodgers has been 100% the issue in all those games. And I say this where much like you Rodgers was my favorite player for many years until he went total douchebag and choke artist at the same time.
They were shitting on him long before. The cherry on the top was taking his replacement when they could of had Justin Jefferson.

Adams and Jefferson would of won them another SB, but the Packers outsmarted themselves.

If Rogers works out there is a possibility that Buf finishes 3rd in the east. Miami is going to be a force in that division as long as Tua doesn't get lobotomized on the field.

Tua contemplated retirement this offseason.

Dolphins have a good team but that QB situation is not great. They're middling.

If Buffalo gets either Nuk or Bijan, however, they're going to be extremely difficult for us to beat and may join the upper tier or even surpass it.

Tua isn't going to need to do as much with Fangio running that Defense. I'm feeling they will alao try and move up for Gibbs to make his workload even lighter.

The real fucked team is New England. This might be crusty's last stand.

Between his beef with Mac Jones and finishing last in the East, I could see Kraft booting Hoodie.

Buff, especially JA, got worse as the season went on. They are on the way down.

With how the Offenses for Buffalo and Giants progressed through the 2022 season it is pretty obvious that Dabol was very important to JA's game.

How much did the loss of Adams play into those numbers though? Last year he essentially had Lazard, a second rounder in Watson and some other guy. His receiving corps was anything but impressive.

Or he’s at the “Brady takes short dump offs to avoid contact” phase of his career.

He’ll probably bounce back this year somewhat and then choke in the playoffs. Either retires or declines considerably in 2024.

The article does call that out. Aaron Rodgers does have some reasonable excuses he can list for having the worst season of his career. He should have a much improved situation overall this year if he still has what it takes to get it done. The article does call out several multi-year trends though that show he is less mobile and just less effective now than he used to be. Personally I do not believe this move makes the Jets a serious contender.

No doubts. The best thing about him joining the Jets will be their ability to impact Buffalo. They don't concern me in the playoffs as his track record speaks for itself.

Oh he has declined from peak Rodgers, and his mobility has decreased. If he had gone to the Texans or Colts I would agree that he wouldn't make them a serious contender. But I think he will with the Jets. They were contending for a playoff spot most of last year and that is with what they had at QB. Rodgers at 60% of what he once was is far better than any other QB on that roster and will make that team a serious contender.

Watson came on and looked pretty darn impressive.

Personally Rogers looked like he was dealing with a hand injury throughout the season. His accuracy was lousy. If he passes the physical and 100% he probably is in store for a nice bounce back the Jets have a nice WR corp.

Uh he broke the thumb on his throwing hand at the point where it goes into the hand...that's a pretty shitty injury for a QB.

I'll be happy if jets split with Buffalo this year.
Could be. I'm just basically repeating what Dan Orlovsky said last season. I don't follow NYJ very closely, so I have to take certain people's word for it.

Regardless, NYJ has a lot of talented players and flashed that potential in 2022. Lack of competent QB play was the biggest hole on that team, per every analyst last year. During the two games i saw them play, I think I noted in one of the GDTs that if they had prime Alex Smith they probably would've made the playoffs ahead of MIA.

Maybe that was hyperbole, but bottom line, they didn't need elite QB play, just better than average. Rodgers can easily deliver that much with that supporting cast.

Lol, this is gonna be a 1 year rental.

“Jets GM Joe Douglas said "I don't want to put words in Aaron's mouth" when asked about his chances of playing beyond the 2023 season.”
