Didn't want a first round WR at 32 anyway. There's not going to be any appreciable difference between the guys available there and 64, IMO. Mitchell is the only fringe guy in this draft, IMO . Thomas was going to be gone around 22 at the latest, IMO. And so you're looking at a group probably led by Mitchell/Franklin that isn't an obviously better bet than the Pearsall/Wilson/Walker sorts.

And if we thought Mitchell was obviously better than those guys, we'd probably look to execute a trade-up anyway because Buffalo was STILL going to be looking at WR in this draft and we wouldn't have been willing to risk it; it's not how Veach rolls.

This doesn't change things much for KC's draft board strategy.

Mahomes lost his elite WR and we got to see what he did the last 2 years without a true #1 (win 2 Super Bowls)

Now we get to see what Joshie can do without a true #1. Should be interesting.

True.

But if you can enter next season with Allen, Nabers, Shakir and Kincaid plus a couple of 2nd round picks, you've got a solid foundation in place.

As we've seen, filling holes becomes a LOT easier when you have an offensive foundation you trust. Suddenly 'good enough' is good enough. You don't need those guys to be blue chippers; merely being good players will get the job done.

It could definitely work, but I'm not sure they have the balls to do it either. We shall see.

With a rookie QB after being ass? Uhhh that is actually outstanding

I don't see a move like this in Beane and McDermott's DNA. All the signs are that McDermott and Joe Brady want to play more conservative on offense and they are going to want to address their defense in the draft.

It was a good season, but the hype for them is already disconnected from what they actually did on the field.

And it'll be moot if teams don't go batshit crazy for these QBs as has been suggested.

I mean in a sane world, Nabers doens't fall past 6. And I'm not sure I'd give that much up for Odunze. They'd need to get a little lucky and see a situation where Nabers slips to around 8 and then pull the trigger if it's offered.

I think I'd do it. I mean if we'd have been able to get a 2nd in 2025 for Sneed, I'd do it as the Chiefs (Nabers/Rice makes it move). I don't think we have the number of holes the Bills do, but we have several of our own.

If you see a force multiplier and you can get your hands on him, you should proably do so. Nabers sure looks like that guy to me.

Hope so.

I get a kick out of those guys operating in the 80s.

But still a lot of moolah for Diggs. I don't think I would've taken on his contract.
He's only due like $3.2 million after this year.

They can take a chance on him this year and hope it makes their offense unstoppable. If it doesn't work out, they can cut him after this season for only the dead money above.

They probably figured it was a risk worth taking this year to try and make a run in the playoffs. :-)

He's not guaranteed much of anything past this year, but his salary would still be 18 and then 19 million plus some fairly substantial roster per game roster bonuses.

He's not going to be cheap if they want to keep him after this season. Though in terms of actual long-term risk, there really isn't any for them.

Hope they do. That team is not a WR away and to give up a ton of draft capital to move that far up for a WR will set them back quite a bit.

Lol. Not unless they're also parting with their 1 & newly acquired 2 for next year.

It's basically the Chiefs-Bills trade for Pat (with a little more). Moving from 28 into the Top 10 of a VERY strong draft class. It's gonna cost em.

Injuries are part of the game, but the Texans got hit pretty hard if I remember correctly.

I'm not ready to crown them just yet, but there's plenty of reasons to be excited if you're a fan.

So the entire AFC West is completely wiped out, plus the Bills and Bengals are dropping all of their weapons... Feels like the league is giving up on trying to beat Pat and Andy.

No, it's just that most of those teams went all-in a couple of year ago, so now they're facing the consequences with nothing to show for it.
