Yes. One of my first posts on this site was simply asking how it's possible for ward to always be right there but just can't get his head around in time...to which staylor (or franchise) told me to shut the f up. Good times.... [Reply]
I always thought Ward was good, but this writer is taking it over the top a bit (actually, a lot).
2024 NFL roster waivers and trade candidates
49ers cornerbacks Charvarius Ward is the crown jewel in San Francisco's secondary but a lack of depth and experience led to Ambry Thomas, Deommodore Lenoir and Samuel Womack III picking up varying levels of playing time early in their careers. The team drafted Renardo Green out of Florida State in the second round while Isaac Yiadom, Rock Ya-Sin and Darrell Luter Jr. compete opposite Ward.

I expected him to still be good but he's probably actually a little bit better even now. I expected him to regress from his final season here but that just wasn't really the case. [Reply]
Ward was ranked in the top-5 last season. Top-10 the season before. And it's not just stats or some PFF alchemy. I watched Chav lock up and shut down DK Metcalf in two games two seasons ago. He's become a topflight CB. [Reply]
DK has to hate him. He's been more physical than him at the line a lot, run routes for him and broke up a hand full of passes at the catch point. [Reply]

We ended up with Sneed and McDuffie for 2 years and still have McDuffie. It turned out alright for us.
But we did. The Chiefs were the ones who identified his talent and went out to get him. They then developed him into a top-flight starter. At the end, they decided to move on, due to his price tag.
