Nzoner's Game Room>*****The Jaylen Watson Thread*****

More to come!

Jaylen Watson was drafted with pick 243 of round 7 in the 2022 draft class. He scored a 9.21 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 159 out of 2001 CB from 1987 to 2022. https://t.co/jSuO8mu17Y #RAS #Chiefs pic.twitter.com/YJuF6Gte7P

Watson went to Pullman instead for the 2020 season, earning honorable mention All-Pac-12 honors that fall (13 tackles, two pass breakups in three starts) as well as in 2021, when he posted 31 tackles, two interceptions, three pass breakups and ranked second in the FBS with four fumble recoveries in 12 starts. With just two years of experience at the FBS level, he's predictably raw with his fundamentals, but the lack of agility and short-area quickness should be more than just short-term concerns. Currently, he's unable to stay in phase with quality route runners but does have physical traits that might warrant a practice squad stint for defenses reliant upon Cover 2 and/or Cover 3 schemes.
Strengths
-Good size, strength and length.
-Fought through adversity to find an FBS home.
-Developmental traits for zone-heavy units.
-Displayed improved fundamentals in 2021.
-Very physical in bullying the release from press.
-Strong punch drives through wideout's shoulders.
-Overwhelms catch point on contested catches.
-Willing hitter with plus strength in run support.
Weaknesses
-Impatient and often overextends in matching release in press.
-Lacks foot agility and quickness for man coverage.
-Footwork through transitions is sloppy and slow.
-Gets routed out of position fairly easily.
-Looked overmatched against USC wideouts.
-Doesn't trust his eyes just yet.
-Takes poor angles and lacks a credible burst to close on throws.
-Doesn't find the football in downfield route phase.

I'm sorry that you're butthurt over the fact that Andy is 1-3 in superbowls, and 3-5 in title games.

Feel free to peruse those losses and the level of coaching and decision making on the sidelines in those contests.

Andy is a genius play designer that can flat out scheme players wide open. Andy gets you a shot at the big one. That's more than fair to say, and very few coaches can consistently get you that shot.

The guy has been in 8 title games and 3 superbowls. That's a GREAT coach. The LEGENDARY coach some on cp believe him to be, would have multiple rings and more superbowl appearances.

There's not a single one of you that isn't going to have an asshole puckered so tight you couldn't drive a toothpick up it with a sledgehammer pregame of the next AFC Title game. Nobody is going to be saying this is a lock to win after that Bengals debacle.

Anyone that does say that has as bad of a memory as those saying a game is over in the third with 15 under center.

It's the conference title game. They're not supposed to be fucking easy. There's a lot on the line. Doesn't matter if you're the 18-1 Patriots or that shitty ass 9-7 Titans team we buttfucked on the way to our ring.

Try something else.

Yeah, I'm pretty clearly not the one complaining about Reid's performance. I'll let you figure out who is, and, for whatever reason, feeling the need to project that onto others.

Will he win it is always gonna be in question when you see things like the second half of last year's title game, relentlessly passing into a 3 man front with a qb that is rattled for the first time in his career.

Steve Spagnuolo, this guy is feast or famine. I don't see him as a top 10 guy at all. Top 10 guys don't field historically bad defenses the first two months of the season and surrender a 100% redzone td rate. Especially when a good portion of that is self inflicted. Many decisions he made last year from personnel, to playcalls, were fireable offenses. Chris jones out of position looking like a fool. Sorensen and Niemann, we all saw what happened. Jamarr Chase set a rookie record being singled up all game, and we lost the game because of a zero blitz on 3rd and 26. Just monumentally stupid football. Took his time about adjusting the coverage on Williams last night. That adjustment needs to happen faster in games. How can you not see when a guy is on fire against you early?
Spags was trying some complex coverages early last year that they just weren’t able to handle, so he had to simplify it. And Jones to DE didn’t work out, but it was worth a try. I believe Jones lobbied hard for the chance.

I don’t know how you could rank many head coaches above Reid. There aren’t too many throughout NFL history that you can justify ranking above him.

Chargers pre-snap 83% chance of winning. After the pick the Chiefs have a 79% chance of winning.

Fenton didn't look that good. Start the dude.

I'm not sure Reid was being referred to as a top 10 all time coach. He's certainly top tier for the coaches in the league currently.

If you're talking just wins, sure. Big Red has a lot of wins. I don't remember being pumped about our win total after playoff eliminations though. Don't think that's a thing people hang their hat on.

However, there are 13 NFL coaches that have won multiple superbowls, and so with the championship being the pinnacle achievement, those 13 coaches are ahead by default.

He's gotten his teams in position to have a shot. His record though, isn't good.

3-5 in title games, and 1-3 in superbowls. Although I defended him In his most recent sb loss, the numbers stand. It is what it is fellas. A losing record when the lights are brightest.

Awesome play designer. Meh in huge games that come down to big decisions.

Fenton is playing well, very well. Mike Williams is almost unrecoverable when he's hot.

You've said this twice and I'm still trying to figure out how he's 1-3 in Superbowls while only 3-5 in title games. If he's been in 4 Superbowls, then he would have had 4 wins in title games.
