He looks timid. Don’t remember seeing this kinda stuff from him. Is Joe…broken?

This was the most concerning play of the day. 3rd down with the game on the line and you have a shot play against single high. Burrow doesn't even give it a chance. Panics and lowers his eyes at a non existent rush. OL was fine this was the perfect play call.

Outside of SF, Houston, and Buffalo, there aren't any real tough match ups.

I think this game will be on the Chiefs DL.

The Bengals defense stands little chance against this emerging juggernaut. Without DJ Reader, they got absolutely plowed by the Patriots, and the Chiefs also are fond of multi-TE sets. Pacheco may break 100 this game.

Lou Anarumo (sp?) is a great DC and the last few times he's played KC, he floods that intermediate zone and dares Mahomes to beat him deep. I expect he'll have a little success with that but this may be the game where Worthy gets some bombs thrown his way. Between those deep shots and a run game that Cincy will have to overcommit to stop, I see the Chiefs dropping 30+ this game.

Once you have to overcommit to an aspect of the Chiefs offense, Andy Reid will counter you to hell and back.

The Bengals offense still has weapons to challenge KC and to keep up, so long as Burrow has his head screwed on. But he looked awfully tentative in the face of a good passrush last week. If the DL can put heat on him, he flinches now in ways he simply hasn't in the past.

I was more sour on the Chiefs secondary from the Ravens game than most people were -- I thought their assignments were routinely messed up. The Bengals have a far better assortment of weapons, even without Chase, than the Ravens do, so this will be a clearer challenge for them.

But if you rattle Burrow, I don't think it'll matter. And unfortunately for the Bengals, I simply don't think their OL is very good.

I entered this season believing the Chiefs would be kinda lucky to start off 2-0. If Burrow returns to prime form, this game could legitimately be a shootout that the Chiefs could lose because I am not currently crazy about our secondary aside from Reid and McDuffie. But if Burrow keeps burrowing like he did against the Patriots, I think 2-0 is far more likely than not.

In short, we have more answers for the Bengals on both sides for the ball than they have for us. I think we are likely to win this game, like, 31-20.

Is this Hollywood Brown week?

Sure hope. I think that additional threat is enough that we could then give these guys the beating we've long been awaiting.

Wow.

Joe Mixon gone (was excellent yesterday for Houston), Higgins still hurt, Boyd gone, OL still a mess and Burrow’s arm is still a problem.

Their defense is still a lot worse as well.

That window closed really fast

Gotta figure they aren't as bad as they showed.

But who the hell knows, all the weird shit they've got going on.

Windows normally do close fast. We're the aberration. This doesn't come around often at all. Love watching these other teams crumble.

Reminds me a lot of what happened with the Rams.

One of the most explosive offenses in NFL history.

One ring and done. Only 4 winning seasons. QB couldn't stay healthy.

What a twist. The team refuses to negotiate in good faith with any star player not named Joe Burrow so they've all gone flaccid.

The opportunity for the Chiefs is pretty big if they go 2-0 and put these two AFC rivals essentially two games down for HFA. Yeah it's a long season but getting a leg up on these teams now puts us in the driver seat and it will also be a great way to kickoff the 3-peat chant.

KC has not scored more than 30 points in a game since October of last year. Time for that to happen and there is no better opponent to do that against than Cincy.

Same thing last year when Burrow was struggling with his calf injury. The Bengals offense was non-existent for the first several games of the season. Eventually he got more comfortable with the calf situation and their offense became pretty successful until Burrow’s wrist injury. The backup QB did a pretty solid job for them, but they missed the Playoffs without Burrow.

Guys,

If Higgins can't play, and we don't know if Chase will play... how exactly do the Bengals beat us?

The one advantage they had over the Ravens was that they have better weapons. They somehow have even worse weapons if Chase/Higgins don't play.

Burrow/Lamar are a wash. The Ravens defense is better.

I suppose the Bengals have a better DC but how exactly do the Bengals plan on winning this game?

Edit: Chase will play. So the Bengals still have a chance, IMO.
