To our best knowledge (basically, Bwana), Skip Towne passed away on March 24, 2023. I didn't exactly have the most positive run-ins with him, but everyone who was anyone on here in the beginning deserves a thread in the In Memoriam forum.
I say we share our best (or worst) encounters with Skip, and then, only once this thread reached 100 posts, move it. :-) [Reply]
Got to meet Skip when he came to my place of business back 2000 or 2001, always enjoyed his posts. Started posting with him at the old Star board.

I remember him well and iirc we were always good with each other. I' saddened to read this, everytime I pop in there's another warrior down, rest Skip. Bless your soul and prayers for friends and family - cheers :-) [Reply]

I think the interesting thing is, he never had children.
Prolly why he slapped us around and into shape.
There's no way in hell he actually had a masters.
I say that because if he did have one, he'd have crowed about it every time he denigrated somebody who didn't have a degree. Which for him was about every third post. [Reply]

his obit said he did and these posts seem to indicate some knowledge of what it takes...i'd bet he did
since he never did anything with it, very skip to not boast about it
