Can't send him out there against speed anymore.
But the problem with putting him out there again is that this really did look, to me, like a mental issue. He was just so indecisive in delivering his punch.
The feet actually looked pretty good. His get-off and kick slide were fine. He got to where he needed to be and then froze.
You don't want to mind-fuck him. If he gets that sort of indecision buried in his head (which is gonna happen if he keeps getting roasted) then you might just ruin him.
I still think he's a viable option at OT. I did see flashes and the athleticism/length are clearly there. But he needs to figure out what to do with his hands in the worst way. [Reply]

Kingsley needs to call Mitchell Schwartz and beg that guy for any help with technique work. Mitch had the privilege of learning from Joe Thomas and has credited him for helping his career.
Mitch still lives in KC and is one of the most technically sound tackles this franchise has ever had. [Reply]
I'm not going to say this is dispositive of anything, nor am I going to say it's reflective of what the last 2-3 weeks have been where things have seemingly gotten much, MUCH worse (especially at LT).
But...this would seem to support that on balance, Mahomes line hasn't been bad. I mean maybe you think top 5 is a stretch, but if you're top 5 on any sort of metric along these lines, it stands to reason that most objective measures would say you're no worse than average, right?
I still think we've oversold that problem on the OL and I still think that's partly because of how ineffective our DL has been, thus making the opposing DL look all the more dynamic by comparison. [Reply]
