Yep. It’s about just being on the field in the NFL regular season and holding your own. The transition back to tackle occurs in the offseason, and you use your experience on the field to guide your progression.

Get used to the speed of the game and physicality of NFL football. Didn’t Jordan Mailata play a season of guard? I know Tyler Smith for the cowboys went through a similar transition coming out of Tulsa.

More examples of tackles taking time to develop. If they want to continue to try Kingsley at Tackle I wouldn’t blame them.

Bills OT Spencer Brown gives me hope for Chiefs OT Kingsley Suamataia. Raw player and freaky athlete who was a top 100 pick 3 years ago. PFF pass-blocking grade as a rookie was 49.4. In his second year, that rose to 65.0. And this year it jumped up to 76.2.

If they want to find a long term solution at LT, they're going to have to develop SOMEBODY. There's no reason to give up on Kingsley now. Just don't make him the defacto starter. Make him earn it.

This is what I'm settling on as well. This team has held on to Skyy freaking Moore for this long, they're not giving up on a dude as talented as Kingsley this quickly, and they would be silly to do so.

I'm just not seeing how they go out and pay Cam Robinson or some other hack 20 million a year, it's just not happening. Worst case scenario, you know Thuney can play the position just fine if needed. I think you look for another Donovan Smith type and let him and Kingsley battle it out.

If they go FA it's Ronnie Stanley...

I think the most likely thing you see is Humphries gets brought back and with a full camp is ready to go if a young guy can't take the job.

Keep in mind, the Chiefs know way more about how Kingsley is progressing than we do. They see him every day run with the 2nd team against the 1st team defense.

We’ve got options, and Thuney could be one of them if he’s just not ready yet. I hope that then means the Chiefs are confident on one of the young guys or can go out and find someone to be our Allegretti if Thuney does have to shift over.

Could even bring back Humphries. I honestly don’t see a team giving him anything more than what we gave him midseason.

For as good as Thuney has been, I can't see him playing LT for an entire season. He's just not built for it.

Conerly and Simmons are the only LT prospects that are even remotely possible, assuming they don’t climb the board after the combine.

It’s hard to tell but I think them playing Kingsley at G and then making the backup G for both playoff games says quite a bit.

He just needs to be good somewhere. It’s he’s a competent RG it’s a great pick. If he’s a credible LT it’s a grand slam

What in the ever living fuck is up with this bizarre fixation on DJ Humphries? I seriously don't get it. Brought in as a desperation late season signing so Thuney didn't have to swing out and it completely bombed. The Chiefs adjusted accordingly and moved on. Why in the fuck would they bring him back for more?

Nourzad is being groomed to take the Allegretti role, Caliendo has it now just because he's been here longer.

Uh because he's cheap and this idea that you can just find anybody to LT is comically hilarious.

A guy like Cam Robinson is going to get a fuck ton of money and he's not even a good player, he's ok.

Yeah, no shit it's fucking hard. So your solution is to bring back Broke Dick McScrubbins that's missed multiple games in all but 3 seasons of his career.

It's a shit solution for sure.

But off the top of your head, can you think of a better solution?

The Chiefs are simply in a terrible position to get a quality LT.

I don't give a fuck about Humphries at this point. I think people are just bringing up because they can't think of anything else.
