Production on the first Star Wars live-action streaming series has begun!
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode.
Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).
It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for updates.
But all that being said, I still feel Ezra might be the one to show up. Makes too much sense, especially with Ahsoka having been introduced and Filoni at the helm. We'll see, hopefully.

If The Mandalorian does take place before Ahsoka and Sabine's search for Ezra, then it probably ain't him.
I'm still thinking dark side swerve. Whatever or whoever it is, I expect that to be the end of the episode and the tease for season 3, like the darksaber last year. [Reply]

No idea if its speculation or not but I saw some dork video that said the search for Ezra will happen starting with that information of where Thrawn is. So Ahsoka after she smoked that bitch she's going to go get Sabine and do the last frame of the cartoons, and the Ahsoka series will be the search.
