Same with the Steelers. Steelers are the AFC version of the Cowboys
Agreed. And they are always factored in due to their early success in the NFL.

What about Indianapolis?

I really don't get the victim complex. If mahomes is great, everybody will be on his dick regardless of market.

I think you're too hung up on market size, which wasn't really a significant part of my argument at all.

Watson already has a huge head start on Mahomes in terms of likability. The success in college, the dramatic fashion of his big games, beating Saban, etc. He was a national hero before the draft. Then he went to Houston, won the starting job, and did that shit with hurricane relief. Even more. And then he lit shit up RGIII-style while Mahomes was waiting for Alex to finish dicking around for a year.

If these QBs are both great, guess who more people are going to gravitate towards. Guess who the national media is going to talk about and prefer. Guess who the average stodgy old fart at the local cafe who insists life was better when men didn't grow out their hair so long is going to prefer.

Yes, wins, losses, and awesome playmaking is #1 for me. On the field stuff is #1. I don't need to say that again. But if I could set it up so that the average NFL fan was forced to acknowledge Mahomes as #1? Yes, I would. If I could have my way, would it be okay for media and fans to talk about other QBs just as much as if not more than Mahomes?

The answer is NO. Fuck no. If I can have it so that Mahomes is the NFL's undisputed #1 star QB and everybody else is just playing along, that's exactly what I want to take place.

At the very least, I ESPECIALLY don't want another QB so highly regarded by fans and media taken two spots after Mahomes in the same draft to receive equal (or greater) spotlight. I NEVER want to see or hear some dipshit Skip Bayless fucktard question if the Chiefs made the right choice or if they should have taken Watson instead. That's what these retards and assholes are doing right now, but as soon as Mahomes establishes himself as the superior QB, I for sure want the "Ehhhhh..... I don't know if Andy Reid made the right chooooice..." talk to fucking END.

I want there to be one universal truth to that 2017 draft-- Mahomes was the best player in the entire draft, and the Texans traded up for Watson because they were desperate when Kansas City beat them out for Mahomes.

Because that IS the fucking truth.

I was thinking about draft night a couple nights ago and I bet the reason we got Mahomes at 10 was because of the 5th year option. In the top ten, that fifth year option is the average of the previous years top 10 at that position. Outside the top ten it’s the average of the 3rd through 25th highest paid at the position from the previous year.

So moving up to 10 was not only costly in terms of what was needed to be traded in terms of draft pick compensation, but the salary that Mahomes would make at 10 instead of 11.

Veach and Andy had to be in full blown love to know all of this and make the move.

I bet all the teams really wanted to move up to 11.

And I love it.

If he’s good, I’m sure he will be extended before the 5th year option ever comes up

Now that's a good comparison.

I actually think the media already is semi jumping on the bandwagon. Anita Marks from NY radio freaking thinks Mahomes is gonna be a stud. She has been all over him since the day we drafted him and can't get over us jumping the Giants to get him.

I watch videos like this about Marino & I expect to see the pregame shows to have similar stories about Mahomes.

Yep, But they knew the Saints were going to take him. The 10 spot was their last chance. He's gonna be well worth it.

Thanks for posting- the similarities to Marino are uncanny.

For all the young pups on here that never got to see Marino play- go back and see what he did in his 2nd year in the NFL. He nearly broke every passing record in the book.

Is anyone going to camp? Anyone who would be willing to hook it up with a Mahomes autograph?

Best season by a QB in NFL history IMO.

I remember watching him . It was sad he was a one man team. Mahomes is gonna be so special. We have to kick ourselves because we might think we're being homers but NO, we've seen the throws he's made in EVERY game he's played in. We got our franchise QB , Finally. and it's gonna be a great ride.
