For Father's day my son cooked the family reverse seared steaks. Here's a stock photo that's a good representation of what it looked like:
It was bloody good. [Reply]
I cracked open one of my survival meal packets to test it, 'cuz of what happened with no AC here after hurricane Irma. Doesn't last the promised 25 years I planned on.
Southwest Chicken. What can I say. It's survival food. :-) [Reply]

Thanks! I didn't used to mess with chicken on the grill or the smoker because I was worried about undercooking it and killing someone, or over cooking it and drying it out. Now that I've gotten used to it, though, it's one of my go to meals. I had a hard time at first with tough leathery skin on the thighs, but I did some research and raised up the heat. Now that they're cooking quicker, the skin comes out great.
The asparagus is so damn easy and delicious. [Reply]

We had an old MRE sitting in our tower for about the last decade and a half. A few of us opened it earlier this year, and the cheese had a grits like consistency. It had definitely gone bad. Some of it was salvageable, but most of it got tossed. [Reply]

Oh, so you have a spiralizer. I been eyein' one of those things. It's just I have so many kitchen gadgets, many I used only once or twice, and no more room.
I guess I could throw out all my kiddie baking pans, now that the kid is grown up. Ya' know teddy bears, lambies, bunnies, snowmen and pumpkins etc.

When I watch people eat crab, I always wish I liked it but sadly I hate crab and salmon. Too fishy. :-)
I grew up along the Jersey Shore and all my buddies and family would eat garlic blue claws dumped on a table with a giant white paper with bibs and drink cold beer while cracking those suckers open and picking at the meat. Of course I drank beer but could only watch the fun. :-)
