Maybe in a 3-tech role similar to Wharton.
Turk may be playing his way out of town; he'd gonna get a real nice deal this off-season at his present rate.
If so, with FAU's experience inside at K-State, maybe a little more weight would make him a viable interior rusher. Though again, with that get-off, he'll end up on his ass a LOT on the interior. He can't be slow off the ball in there, they'll just put him on the ground.
Everything comes down to him fixing this bizarre get-off issue. [Reply]

Kinda surprised we were able to land Wharton for this season. I figured he had already played his way out. [Reply]

Nah - he wasn't very good last year.
Which is why I'm pretty reluctant to consider Omenihu's return as some sort of panacea. We've seen time and time and time again that these ACL injuries just take longer to return to full go.
Oh sure, they can get back on the field, but it often takes a full season to get back to where they were.
That was why I was really hopeful we'd try to use the lost time from Omenihu to leverage an extension. Get him to add another year onto that deal, move a little money to 2025, spend that freed up money on a better short-term replacement for him than Danna and then you'd get the best of both worlds with a fully healthy Omenihu the following season.
Then he hit social media and kinda made me think we may have approached him with the idea and he told us where to stick it. [Reply]
