Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Some people don't want to believe that other people can be faithful/not tempted or lured by the newest gadget, hottest girl, best house, job, etc. All people MUST want the newest, bestest, richest, most powerful, etc. That's how they are and get uncomfortable when they see other people who aren't as affected by these things.

Remember, Mariota's "red flag" was that he didn't have any red flags

I hope I’ve been able to show you sides of Mahomes that you aren’t hearing much about. He’s got exceptional pocket presence and eye level, even under pressure. His ball placement is very good and creates opportunities for his receivers. His quick release gives the offense a crucial split-second advantage and allows him to escape dangerous situations. We don’t know how Mahomes will do this year, but he is an impressive quarterback on many levels so far that people just don’t talk about enough.

Oh, and also…
He’s got a freaking rocket launcher for an arm.

They also make up some of the ugliest (internally and externally), most spiteful, and miserable bitches too.

This is probably of the few times where I actually pay attention to training camp and give it more than a passing glance.

The idea that we have our franchise quarterback and he's getting rave reviews has me more hyped for this season than any other Chiefs season that I can remember.

One aspect that I really feel isn’t being mentioned enough with Pat, and honestly may be one of the most crucial, is the energy he is going to bring back to Arrowhead.

Ask any Chiefs fan about how they feel about this upcoming season and it’s a near guarantee that they’ll mention how excited they are to watch Mahomes QB the Chiefs this year. Each game will likely be sold out, and Mahomes is going to give the crowd one hell of a show. We’re going to shatter noise records once again and it’s because how ecstatic everyone is to finally have a franchise QB.

There is so much more to his game than his arm strength that it's almost criminal that it's overlooked.

Field Vision is beyond what I've seen in a rookie and beyond what Alex Smith has ever shown.
Very quick release that will rival the best QB's.
Accuracy is excellent and Aaron Rodgers like on the run.
Pocket Awareness looks to be the best in a QB wearing a Chiefs uniform than I can remember seeing.
Reading defenses looks good so far but 4 games against vanilla defenses in the preseason plus a week 17 NFL game it's impossible to tell, but, I have confidence with Reid coaching here.

The biggest aspect that gets overlooked is PMII's desire to hone his ability to play the position which Reid commented on, and unlike Fave he doesn't have an ego taking the higher percentage pass.

All the talk coming out of Kansas City about new starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes: The Chiefs loved Mahomes when they moved up in last year’s first round to draft him, they loved what they saw of him as a rookie enough to trade Alex Smith to Washington, and there are already comparisons being made to another quarterback Andy Reid coached, Brett Favre.

But the people who are confident enough in their predictions to put money behind them don’t seem so sure. And that’s why the Chiefs’ win total in Las Vegas (and various other places where sports gambling is now legal) has been set at 8.5.

In other words, the betting public sees the Chiefs as finishing somewhere around 8-8 or 9-7, which would be a step backward for the Chiefs, who are coming off their third-straight double-digit win playoff season, and who averaged 10.6 wins a year over the five years that Smith was their starting quarterback.

Obviously, there are many factors that go into any prediction of how a team will fare in the coming season, ranging from strength of schedule to free agent signings to how many of their rookies project to start right away. But for the Chiefs, the switch from Smith to Mahomes is by far the biggest change in 2018.

And although that change might prove to be the right move in the long term, there are no guarantees in the short term. The Chiefs may just be trending downward for 2018.

Former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali made national headlines this week when he compared Patrick Mahomes to Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre.

But this news may be even bigger: Andy Reid agrees.

“[Reid] absolutely believed Mahomes had some Favre in his game,” a former Chiefs staff member told NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks. “We constantly heard the comparisons, especially his ability to improvise and extend plays. He raved about his gunslinger mentality and big arm, and how he could fit the ball into tight windows.

”Reid wasn’t bothered at all by the crazy throws that Mahomes would make into traffic. All of it reminded him of Favre.”
Favre had 71,838 yards, 508 touchdowns, 336 interceptions and a Super Bowl championship in his 16-year career. He compiled these stats over 298 starts.
