The score stayed a little close but the chargers looked really rough. Dobbins being out kills then because Greg Roman needs to run the ball and Herbert is a check down machine. Johnston is a big play threat but drops more passes than Toney. McConkey is the main guy to worry about but we can hopefully just stick mcduffie on him, if Ladd is even healthy enough to play.
It feels to me like the team is silently tanking. They want Herbert to get used to the system but they don’t really care if they win. They have a ton of cap space next year so I imagine their push if for next year [Reply]
Also the chargers got dicked over with the nfls scheduling. They’re going to be gassssseeedddd. They just finished a short week cross country travel game, and now have to travel halfway back home. Brutal travel stretch for the chargers. Not ideal for a team playing their most important game of the season [Reply]

Nothing more.
So what do you consider long term? And then if you read my post and thought about it you would see that I'm talking about a three year contract we can get out of if we need to. He did play almost three and half years straight without missing a game so there's a chance we could get two years of play out of him while we prepare for the future at the LT position. [Reply]

Uhh, 3 years is a very long time in NFL terms. For perspective, there were four players that played on the Chiefs in both Super Bowl LIV and LVII.
Mahomes
Kelce
Jones
Butker
That's the list. There's a metric fuckton of roster turnover year to year, much less 3. [Reply]

So in your mind three years is long term? I'm not sure I agree with that but if the contract is structured where we can get out of it at the end of each season without a bunch of dead cap space then it wouldn't have to be a three year "long term" deal. And of course this is all depends on what Humphries does the rest of this year. Gives us time to develop Morris and Sumataia or find somebody else. If Humpries plays decently then this absolutely something you do. [Reply]

He won't be on Pat's blindside at RT, but he will still be a problem unless he drastically improves. He would make Jordan Black look like Mitchell Schwartz. [Reply]

This is what worries me. The 2021 class is done after this year and we are probably only bringing back one of those guys letting the other walk. The 2022 incredible class is over after next year. We’re gonna lose some of those guys.
The last 2 drafts have been below par. Rashee and Worthy look really good. Conner has been good in his role and Hicks looks pretty damn good. Felix is a bust unfortunately and Kingsley is not in good territory.
They gotta reload. They need these picks to replenish the roster. Not sure what they’ll do if they had to give them away to move up for a LT.
That’s gonna be the biggest question this Spring [Reply]
