There's some subjectivity to it, obviously, but most of the time you can tell the difference.
I'll be damned. Had no idea. I figured a qb tackle for a loss was a sack bottom line. [Reply]
The Packers game was one of the better games he's had in awhile (Maybe the Chargers or first Broncos game?).
But at that, he's still only had 1 or 2 games this season that were at the level of his average game last season. The Jax game was incredible, Denver1 was at his 2022 level as well.
Otherwise I'm hard-pressed to think of many games where he's played as well as he routinely played last season.

Regression is here, IMO.
I think it's time to move on.
Same. He's aging now and he's always been a bit nicked up.
I wouldn't gamble 30 mil on him. Even with a strong finish, racking up sacks against bad teams, I wouldn't bite that cheese.
He'd have to be a fucking freak in the postseason for me to want to pay him. [Reply]

Chris Jones gets up the crucial SACK for the Chiefs 😤

Chiefs seem to have completely aced this one.
Traded back from the first to second round. Got great production through a couple different schemes.
Paid him a pretty big contract. 8 seasons, with 5-6 being high level to elite play. Was pretty much always available, minus a few hiccups along the way.
He even provided a signature game against the Bengals in the AFCCG.
Now, they’ll likely move on without any harm to their cap.

I think we'll miss him, but yeah. At this point I'd much rather use our resources on giving Mahomes some actual weapons. If we can get something out of a tag and trade and use it on a great WR to pair with Rice, I'll take the possible dip in our pass rush. [Reply]

Yeah, I believe if the QB gives himself up (and it looks like that's what Love did there) then he's down even before contact. In which case the sack goes to the nearest guy who may have created the give up.
Pure scorer's decision, I suppose.
I don't think either guy would've had a complaint either way. [Reply]

Nope.
That's not how it works. I can't think of a time a team just paid out an incentive because someone got close to it absent some sort of bizarre extenuating circumstance.
Missing a game because you're being a stubborn jackass does not qualify. [Reply]
This year has demonstrated why you don’t sign an almost 30 year old DT to a MONSTER contract.
Get the best left in the tank this season (and hopefully in the playoffs, mostly) and then move on and let someone else pay him ridiculous $$$$$. [Reply]
