You sure do bitch about him a lot.
The number of Justin Watson snaps on offense aren't close to being a contributing factor to our offense not resembling 2018-2022.
I don’t hate this dude. He’s made some big catches these last couple years.
Definitely a spot we can look to upgrade, but he’s certainly no worse than a Skyy Moore or Kadarius Toney. Hell, he was better than MVS last year when you weigh in contracts. [Reply]

Definitely better than Skyy/KT. At least in terms of being functional. Probably better than MVS.
He's just not a volume WR. Every time Andy's tried to get him to absorb more than 4-5 targets, his completion% rate drops to 50%. Basically, JWat is the best possible version of Skyy. The problem is, no team should realistically have even the best version of Skyy on the field 60+% of the time. If you do, something is broken with your offense. [Reply]
Chiefs are playing 4D Chess, essentially hiding Dhop until the post season, trying to keep his trade compensation lower.
When Hollywood returns, assuming they don't treat him like a China doll, he should seriously eat into those reps, because he really needs game reps to get acclimated to playing in this offense.
But, Andy is a package guy. Mahomes clearly likes Watson, so he's not going to just vanish outright. [Reply]

That's just the thing. It doesn't appear that anyone has ever eaten up his snap count. He played 494 snaps his first season here and over 500 both of the last two years. He had the 3rd most snaps for a WR in both 2022 and 2023. And he's 2nd this year.
Maybe it's more of an indictment of the other guys on the roster but the guy is getting way too many snaps proportionate to his targets and receptions. He just doesn't bring much to the table at all. [Reply]

Mahomes and Andy Reid disagree vehemently with you. He's out there because they WANT him out there.
So much hate for a guy who does his job, runs the right route, blocks well and catches the ball when it comes his way.
In any case you won't have to worry about this much longer because Brown will eat into his snaps. [Reply]

I don't hate him at all. I totally understand Andy wants him out there. I also understand that him getting 500 snaps a year in any offense is a sign there's a problem with WR depth. [Reply]
