If you could perform reading comprehension above a 3rd grade level you'd have seen that I already mentioned those things as well.
Pat shit the bed. Oh wait, if I say that here then a bunch of Pat reach around bitches come complaining about that.
And if I say the defense shouldn't allow a fucking broke dick rookie QB to come in and make plays when it matters, then I'm also an idiot.
Here let me do this one last time - it's actually possible for both sides of the ball to play below standards in the same game.
I know that's a wild take for so many, but it's true.
I don't give two shits about the 14 points. It's about the fact that the defense allowed Nix to make plays in the most important parts of the game.
OTHERWISE THEY AREN'T LINING UP FOR A WALK OFF FG WIN. Do you not get that???? I guess not.
And, if Pat wasn't in his 2024 shit the bed mode, which is more common than not this year, we are up by a touchdown. If Butker doesn't also shit the bed on the kickoff, the Donks have to drive a longer field.
The issue with the defense is that they wen're facing Lamar Jackson, or josh Allen, or Joe Burrow. It was fucking Bo Nix. And he made plays to set them up to win the game.
If this is going to be called an "elite defense" you don't allow a shitty rookie QB to do that.

Not many receivers are going to be able to replicate what he did.
I get that Sutton is a good WR. I'm talking about why and how they went after McDuffie. Rookie QB Bo Nix didn't spontaneously decide to go after McDuffie, the 2nd best CB in the league. Sean Payton gameplanned it. I'm curious as to why, and how, when no other teams/OCs have for the last two seasons. And how that might or might not be a problem for us in the playoffs/SB. [Reply]

Convo over
My reading comprehension is fine. The defense gave up 14 points and were put in a really bad spot at the end of the game by the offense/STs. That's not at all their fault. You're still an idiot. [Reply]

DEFENSESN GET PUT IN BAD SPOTS. HELLO? I said over and over, I don't care about the 14 points. And yet you keep bringing it up. So yes, your reading comprehension sucks balls.
Elite defenses shut that shit down.
Does this offense SEEM like it's probably going to keep putting the defense in bad spots?
Wager on that?
Right. So if that is the case, and you let a Bo Nix make the plays to set you up for a game winning FG, and you have blown assignments on 3rd downs (go watch the game tape) then yeah, that's an issue too. [Reply]

You saying you don't care about the 14 points doesn't change the fact that they only gave up 14 points and even if they get the FG at the end 17 points should ALWAYS be more than good enough for Pat, Andy, and company. Sorry that you can't just ignore the reality of it all.
The Chiefs defense is the closest you'll get to elite in today's NFL. Keep crying about it though. [Reply]
Had the Bronco's played the Chiefs after Buffalo I don't see it being that close. Would have been the standard 10\14 point Chiefs win...But the Defense and mahomes are focused on getting the 1st round bye so that they've got to play one less game in -5 degrees and overlooked a pathetic franchise. And Denver was playing their superbowl. I'm expecting them to come out ready to **** Buffalo up this Sunday. [Reply]

It was nothing more than Nix forcing the ball to his top receiver…and arguably his only good WR at this point in development.
I wouldn’t make anything of it, honestly. Sutton is a top tier (or maybe a rung below) WR that had a good game fooling a HOF quality CB a few times with nuanced route running, nothing more. [Reply]

Maybe. But what I saw several times was that Nix hit Sutton on time/in rhythm. Which means that Sutton had to be the first or second read. Which means that Payton saw something in film study about McDuffie that he thought he could take advantage of, repeatedly. With Bo "over 50% of my passes are within 5 yds of the LoS" Nix pulling the trigger.
Now, if that's true, then every other team on the slate is going to try and exploit that same issue, because now it's on tape.
If it's not, then it was an outlier performance, and whatever. [Reply]

I’m talking about a possible chink in the armor that may have been exposed with our best CB. Which might be a serious issue if it can be exploited by other teams, in particular, playoff teams.
You said if Denver had better skill players they would have won. Well we've played multiple teams with WAY better skill players and all of them have LOST. That's just a fact. [Reply]

They beat Lamar Jackson AND Joe Burrow already. [Reply]
If you want to argue the defense struggled, I agree with you.
If you want to argue the offense struggled, I agree with you.
But this whole "oh noes, we've been exposed" bullshit is exactly that. Bullshit. They had a down game. It happens every year with this team, multiple times even. [Reply]

DEN has a top-tier defense. CIN does not. TB does not. Etc.
So, let's go forward now. Is there a team on the slate, or a team we're likely to run into in the playoffs, or in the SB, that has better QB/skill players than DEN, and a really good (top-10ish) defense? And what if they 'discover' the same issue with McDuffie that Sean and Coen seem to have found?
But as I said, whether we won or lost Sunday, or whether we win or lose this coming weekend isn't really what I've been concerned with. It's the fact that two teams have gone at McDuffie and had decent success. Now, maybe it's nothing. Or, maybe there's something to be concerned about. [Reply]
