Damn from age 10-13 I cried every fall when we couldn't get over the hump...1980 was great, until the Phillies and Tug McGraw and Pete Rose... Pete was a douche that series, but the older I got, I could appreciate his passion. [Reply]

I really don't remember Rose from that series, but I hated Tug McGraw with a white hot passion. What kind of name is Tug anyway. Fuggin' douche bag. [Reply]

Wow so we are just as good if not better when they don't start. To me that's actually a good sign because if we do get run support when those guys pitch we should just simply win. [Reply]

Royals manager Matt Quatraro on facing the heavily-favored Yankees:
"Well, thankfully we're not playing against their tradition, right? We're playing against the team that we're facing off against this week. That's going to be plenty of a challenge. We understand how talented they are, but nobody gets to this point in the offseason or the postseason without being talented and being a good team. We take it as a challenge."
"We understand that most people are going to think that they are the favorites, but that doesn't matter when you get out on the field." [Reply]

A better question would have been what their record is when those three start and exit with a lead. [Reply]
Anthony Rizzo not playing in the ALDS. He didn't have a great year but he also has a .393 BA and 1.051 OPS against Wacha in his career so it's a bigger deal then it might seem. [Reply]
