However, there are differences in the WAY the game is lost.
Players play. It's a fact. So if the players are just getting beaten, missing tackles, dropping oasses, blowing coverages, shanking kicks and punts, then you suck it up and just accept the team has to get better.
Perfect example, Superbowl 55. Pat made the throws under impossible conditions. Guys just dropped them, or worse, weren't even aware of them. We were beaten due to brickhanded brainless receivers, and a horrific lack of pass protection. The plays Andy called were there. He's not blameless, the timeout that led to a 21-6 halftime deficit instead of a 14-6 halftime deficit looms large in that game, but there was a Stark lack of ability on that field.
Now, there's the other side of the coin. When you have elements of your game that are working that you just don't use, you continue doing what has flatly failed repeatedly all game, you punt to save 15 yards of field position, you call Barnum and Bailey circus dumbshit plays that stall your possessions, those are things that happen because the man on the sideline isn't quite right that day.
Did Andy call plays relevant to what was happening in the Bills game? No.
Kareem was having success. 5 yards on first down is a massive asset. Romo alluded to it early. The guy that can turn around and hand the ball off for 5 yards on first down is likely going to win this game. Somehow, he didn't want to use it. Pass pass pass punt. 12th carry for Hunt didn't come until the 4th quarter.
Just terrible by Andy there. Instead, we're immediately behind the sticks with an o line that seems to have forgotten how to play football the past couple weeks.
So yeah, if Andy contributes to a loss, he will be criticized. I know he's kinda off limits for a lot of you. But if you think that was a good job calling offense in Buffalo, you might be on the spectrum.
No concern about overfeeding Hunt and not having him in the playoffs? [Reply]

All I know is that this is the best that ever was, and there's a good chance that it's the best that will ever be. I will gladly be a glassy-eyed Chiefs zombie banging my tambourine at airports in a red robe and handing out Mahomes bracelets for the next decade. Y'all can "talk football" all you want. I will exult in the greatest dynasty in football history and will mindlessly dance for the next decade. [Reply]

For real though, that poor man needs a breather. I'm not saying make him a healthy inactive, but maybe mix in a game or two where he's getting less than 10 touches once Pacheco is fully ready to go. [Reply]
I'm trying to stay positive and enjoy the football as a distraction. I had the Chiefs at 8-2 or even 7-3 given their starting schedule. Ravens/Bengals to start, the 49ers/Bills with the Raider/Broncos/Chargers thrown in to start the season. Other than the Raiders, there's not a lot of can-o-corns in there.
Let's enjoy this run of great Chiefs football because it can be over in an instant. This is supposed to be enjoyment and escape from the problems we face each day. Enjoy it while it lasts. [Reply]
You know what's fucking nuts? There's a very real chance the 49ers don't even make the playoffs this year. Currently at 5-5 in the midst of a dogfight in the NFC West and the Packers, Bills, and Lions all still on their schedule. [Reply]
