We talking about Bowers? Because I was just wondering about that. He went 5/5 58 yds. We didn’t stop him. [Reply]

I did say compared to the rest of his season. He's basically operating as their WR1, and is the only thing they have on offense. 5/58 in a game the Raiders were trailing the entire second half doesn't equal the Chiefs "getting their dicks kicked in" by the TE. [Reply]

Okay. I'm not trying to say we got our tallywhackers kicked anywhere either. But we didn't slow that guy down either. [Reply]

He's head and shoulders better than those two, statistically and on tape.
But if Baker doesn't scare you, then be wary of Liam Coen. He's the OC, and he's pretty good. He's going to have a good gameplan, and it won't just be about scheme, though his schemes are very good. He's a "players over plays" guy, so he's going to attack our weakest links on defense.
So, whoever plays opposite Trent is going to have their hands full, whether that's Nazeeah or Williams or whoever. Ditto Bolton in coverage. And Justin Reid is going to potentially have a long day in coverage as well. Every defender that struggles in coverage is going to be targeted.
I didn’t say Baker is the worst of the three. I said that I wouldn’t call someone crazy if they’d take Carr or Purdy over Baker. You think Liam Coen is gonna outsmart Spags? [Reply]

The Chiefs getting their dicks kicked in by tight ends is a reoccurring theme in 2024.
So I wouldn't just assume this is like playing the bronco's or raiders. Numbers wise this is the toughest team they've faced all year. Their passing defense is something like ten spots higher than the Ravens.
Dumb. So you think because Baker has better numbers than those guys that he is a better QB? Because I didn’t say anything about numbers. Baker has far and away better numbers than Mahomes this season. Who would you pick to QB your team?
I mean the fear of Baker Mayfield (sans Evans and Godwin, no less) is shocking to me.
Where the fuck is Clay when he actually could be cultivating some legit cowardly takes for his pet thread? [Reply]
This game cannot be a loss. If the cheating Donks with their crappy quarterback and crappy offense in general can beat these guys, then there is absolutely no excuse to lose to them. If the Chiefs put in Wentz, benched Hunt, Hopkins, and JuJU, they would still have a better offense than the cheating Donks. [Reply]

Well, I would call them crazy. And worse. But whatever.
And while I don't think that Coen will 'outsmart' Spags, I do think he'll find a way to win some snaps. It just won't be enough to win the game. I think it'll be a very interesting matchup between Coen/Spags, because they've never faced each other. Coen will probably have some surprises in store.
Here's the thing: over the last 4-5 games, Coen, Baker and the TB offense has been able to generate at least 28 points/gm. In the ATL game this past Sunday they generated 26. Without any WRs worth naming. Also, TB's offense is one of the most efficient offenses in the league, ranked top-1 or -2, if ESPN is correct.
But Bowles' defense over the same timeframe has been giving away 30pts/game.
Bottom Line, we aren't going to win this game because Baker's not a good QB, or Coen isn't a good OC. Currently, they're both effectively the best in the league at their respective positions. We're going to win because TB's defense couldn't stop my mother's choir group from scoring multiple TDs. [Reply]

Baker will give you the ball and he's streaky. Not a consistent guy. He will never be a top QB imo. [Reply]

The DEN game was TB's worst game. To be more precise, it was Baker's worst game. He hasn't played like that since. Even in his other bad game (or games, you could say he's had three truly poor performances), he was much better than he was in the DEN game. That was also when they didn't have Vea, Winfield, Whitehead . . . they may have had 5-6 starting defensive players out for that one. I would throw that game out, if I were you, and look more at the other two bad games, like the first ATL game, when Baker went south after the first quarter, and the BAL game, when he almost did the same exact thing. Surprisingly, our offense played much better than anticipated...but Baker, as much as I love him, is forcing throws and as you probably know, leads the league in int's. We had a "three headed monster" at running back, even acknowledged by Bowles, but our third RB only have 4 touches last week. And many folks think he is our best RB (Sean Tucker). Lastly, we have a horrible record on Monday nights...I hope they prove me wrong. As several on this board have predicted, I see the score being 34-17...hell, KC may score 50 on us. Teams usually "get right" when they play the Bucs...we seem to cure whatever is ailing a team. Go Bucs!

It was. Mostly Godwin. Like 60-70%, I'd guess. Going to guess from Sunday's performance they're going to try and spread it around, but Otton and Irving will probably absorb most of those targets. McMillan might be another option, but his hands have been inconsistent. [Reply]

Games against Tampa, Denver, and Buffalo to me represent as good a chance as you can have to catch a groove. There isn't a dominant edge in that trio of teams.
I really, really wish we didn't do this to Kingsley this year.
You kinda want consistency at the LT position so the QB can get a feel for it, right? Yanking Kingsley out just because you left him on an island against Hendrickson and he got embarrassed (no surprise there) just seems like an odd decision, because now its pretty hard to justify putting him back in with Mahomes finally finding a groove.
