The other thread is a dumpster fire. I'm sure this will become one as well, but might as well start with a clean slate. I'll at least try to keep the OP updated with any notable news. Feel free to PM me if I miss anything good.
Arrest warrant and potential charges:
Spoiler!
BREAKING: An arrest warrant has been issued for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice in connection to his involvement in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 75 in Dallas in late March, sources tell WFAA. https://t.co/XL3F7oCuW1

Collision involving serious bodily injury -- a third-degree felony -- carries a punishment of imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice of not more than 10 years or less than 2 years. Aggravated assault -- a second-degree felony -- is punishable by two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
TL;DR, his concern was at a 2, and now it's a 4 (out of 10). Still probably not a huge deal, but there are some concerning possibilities. Overall, though, he thinks it all gets pled down to misdemeanors, he misses a couple of games, and he writes some massive checks to those he injured.

#Chiefs Patrick Mahomes said he's worked with Rashee Rice throughout the offseason and will continue to do so while the legal process plays out for Rice..
Can they just speed this process up now to avoid being in a situation of having to play without Rashee in the playoffs? The sooner this is over the better for the Chiefs. [Reply]

As I said much earlier in this thread, probably 3-4 games and not until 2025, we good for this year most likely. [Reply]

The civil cases most likely will be settled before they see a courtroom, with the injuries requiring no hospital stay it will probably be within the insurance limits. [Reply]

Are we sure about that? I don’t remember Kareem Hunt being sentenced before Goodell suspended him. Or was that just getting put on the Commissioners list? [Reply]

Commissioners list because of the stupid video going public. Everyone was in panic mode. [Reply]
Cameron Sutton got 8 games after being charged with "Felony Domestic Battery by Strangulation"
Fellas, that's a LOT worse than what Rice did.
This should be 2 games tops. May be 4 games. But if the league's letting Sutton off with 1/2 a season when he choked a woman out, it's hard to justify them 'dropping the hammer' on Rashee. [Reply]

I just saw this. He also evaded police for several weeks before turning himself in so...............

It’s been awhile, but Greg Hardy got 10 games which was reduced to 4.
His situation was really fucking ugly too. [Reply]

Further proves what I've been saying about the 8 games rumor. It would be the most egregious arbitrary suspension in NFL history. [Reply]

Oh I've posted the list a couple times in various threads.
Bottom line is that the actual precedent for this kind of thing is 1 game, 2 games tops.
And the league with all its butt-fuckery will probably give Rice 4 because...Reasons. Hunt will take it and both Rice and his attorneys will contritely claim they've grown and matured from the experience and the world will keep turning.
But even 4 doesn't have an established basis. Just Goodell dropping the bomb on his good soldier owner Clark.
I still wonder if his willingness to eat shit on stuff like this is what got him the gig as head of the finance committee. I just can't understand why a now established owner from a respected NFL family constantly gets whacked around like a red-headed step-child by the league. And just does it with a smile on his face.
