I'm just annoyed because they talk about Mahomes every day, cool, love it... but its the same shit every time. Schrager blows him, Adams talks about how he's too reckless and the defense is trash, and Burleson talks about how Alex Smith is so damn underappreciated by everyone. She repeatedly says shit like, "What's Kansas City going to do about losing so many important starters on defense from last year like Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali?"

The Chiefs defense was awful in most statistics last year and we lost Peters and added unproven young draft picks. Pat also hasn’t played much.
Media types don’t usually pick unproven teams so this isn’t surprising. It’s also a show and they need to have talking points so they don’t all agree on the same thing the entire show. [Reply]

I think we did a lot of addition by subtraction defensively. I get that an outsider may not necessarily see it that way, but I do at least. Even in the case of Peters, who as great of a playmaker as he is, seemed to have a negative effect on the intensity of the defense.
Even in the Oakland game that he was suspended last year I thought they played meaner and more aggressively. All the additions this offseason were made with that in mind IMO. Veach wants a tough, physical defense. Something even Peters could never fit into. [Reply]
