Most likely it was some of both. If the story is complete and utter BS, and is proven so, then the authors would be in the crosshairs of a serious defamation lawsuit. So I hope if sued, they are prepared to defend themselves. If it's all simply attention seeking with no regard to fact, they would deserve to be sued and lose. That's all I'll say about that. Still too soon to know which end is up with this story.

The only reason that Clay is catching so much shit in here is because from day one he’s claimed this is for “the Kingdom”. Then continued posting click stats and how it was breaking everywhere. Once he finished that…he repeatedly just responded with “this isn’t going away” and then finished with “a source is asking me to leave this alone”.
Meanwhile he’s continued checking on this thread and the chaos he’s helped create.

That's an interesting theory. It's probably way more solid than my conjecture, which was the family source was Jackson Mahomes.
See, Jackson might've been around Patrick when he was bitching about, say, the meeting with EB and Kafka. Supposedly only three guys in the room, none likely to talk to Marty. Patrick goes home, maybe goes out for margaritas, Brittany and Jackson are there, Patrick says "Goddamn, you know what happened with EB today?"
Jackson is the Fredo of the family, wants to be taken seriously, show he's got some juice of his own. So he shops gossip on THE star and finds a taker.
When Patrick sees the story come out on Twitter, he knows where it came from and hits the roof, blasts Jackson and tells him to tell his new friends to take that down. When Jackson tells Marty what Patrick wants, Marty complies.
Hell, for all we know that's why he was chill to Brittany at the TT game that night. "Man, I can't trust my only family to keep their mouths shut."

The Chiefs aren't going to come out and admit to this and they're also not going to come out and deny any of this.
So outside of the national media running with this (which isn't going to happen...obviously)...there is no way that anyone is proven correct or incorrect on this.

If nothing else, EB is either the SLOWEST fucking playcaller in the history of the world, or the relaying the play in takes too long.
Can't count how many times per game Mahomes is motioning to the sidelines for the play, or flat out yelling at the sideline what the play is. Like, that has to be so fucking annoying to not know what the fuck you're doing. Then he gets less time pre snap to make adjustments and reads.
We've had 2 minute drills, where you should have 2-3 plays called and ready, and we have no fucking idea what we're doing after the first completion.
If EB is calling plays, fuck off, you're too slow.
