I've never paid attention to what women really like on men. I just like it because I like it. To hell with what they like. I gotta smell it all day ya know? Probably one reason why I'm single....
This is what I wear

A better brand will get you a better fit through the shoulders - stick w/ reg. fit versus any slim fit - at least for now - I like Nordstrom Rack - that'a a nice trade off from Marshall's - only a level nicer.
I'm not a fan of the ones they currently have on their website, but I wear a lot of the Gap 'lived-in' style button-downs and roll the sleeves up.

Also buy similar striped/gingham/plaid shirts from BR, American Rag, or Express.

Those along with v-neck American Rag tees and long-sleeve crews (from BR) make up most of my wardrobe.

For gingham, oxford, seersucker, etc. dress shirts I wear Billy Reid almost exclusively. He's by far my preferred menswear designer (and I've hung out at his house in Florence, AL).

eBay is literally the only way I can afford to wear Billy Reid. I can nab BR shirts for $30 there. And even then I only have shirts. I'd love a blazer or two (not to mention the Bond peacoat), but fat chance of me ever being able to own a luxury piece like that.

The easiest way to look like you've been styled by Ryan fucking Gosling himself is to buy everything you can afford from J.Crew.

I really need to start hitting up eBay, then. I've gained an appreciation for nicer clothing in recent years because we hang out with a bunch of couples who are all partners in some high end local clothing stores. They're always immaculately dressed, but I can't afford that shit on the regular. I have a few nice pieces (my Redwing Heritage Iron Rangers are my pride and joy), but I need more to move my wardrobe out of Gapville.

Yeah... $1200 worth of clothing right there: Billy Reid Bond peacoat in charcoal ($695), Gant Rugger red slub flannel shirt ($135), Gant Rugger slim fit broken twill khaki pant ($175), Red Wing Heritage Beckman boot in Cigar ($340). || #billyreid #gantrugger #gant #redwing #redwingheritage

I don't care where it's from, I'm not spending $75 on a shirt.

I am immensely jealous of your Billy Reid Bond peacoat. It's my DREAM to have one.

I'd spend $1200 on an entire wardrobe.
