I doubt we need to give it a whole lot of weight, but The Sporting News has posted a pair of articles in which they are reporting a lot of interest by the Chiefs in trading for either DHop or Tee Higgins.

I can't fathom how we could afford Higgins, considering what his market value has to be, but the cap is just about my worst subject.

DHop does look more affordable but would still need some creative machinations to be able to afford him as well, so not sure how the writers of the two articles thought any of this was possible.

But it adds a name or two to the list, and that's always fun, right?

And Kelce. Age 35 with some nagging injuries last year. Mecole Hardman is another one with injury history.

And I'm pretty sure Mecole just isn't the same. He doesn't look as fast as he once was.

Cooper won’t surpass juju for at least 1-2 months of learning and practicing.

First of all, we don't really know how long it would take for Amari to outperform JuJu. But let's not forget that Amari is and has always been a legit WR1 or X WR, and JuJu never has been. At his best JuJu was a better-than-average WR2, and that was half a dozen years ago or whatever.

Also, who cares about next week? Pretty sure everyone here is thinking at least a month downrange, two months, 3 months, postseason . . . and by that time, JJSS might be on IR or otherwise dinged up getting tackled running all those routes over the middle.

And finally, JuJu has a bad wheel, and was never terribly fast to begin with. Amari can actually still go deep and play as a legit X/WR1. So he might prove much more productive than JuJu from Day 1.

I'd say adding Amari Cooper would make him the best WR on our squad, with respect to Rice.

Right! Mahomes threw for his most yards in game this season in week 5. No Rice, Brown and Paceco at RB.

The year juju had in 2018 (111 receptions, 1426 yards and 7 td's) is better than any season Amari has had. JuJu has been a victim of circumstances. His first few years he played with Big Ben but still had to share the field with Antonio Brown. Then in 2019 when AB leaves and he becomes the number one, Big Ben gets injured and misses the year. 2020 Ben comes back and Juju gets 830 yards and 9 td's. The next year he gets Injured and misses most of the season.

Then JuJu joins KC and gets 1022 yards and 3 td's during the regular and playoffs combined. He gets a deal with the Pats and suffers with bad QB play under a defensive head coach.

JuJu has had four seasons with Pat and Big Ben and in all four produced good numbers despite having to share the targets with AB and Kelce. Imo his numbers would be number one level if he wasn't forced to spend multiple years playing with Steelers backups and the Pats rubbish they had last year.

And while all of that may be true, it's also true that when PIT tried to make JJSS the WR1/X, it became quite clear before the end of that season that he wasn't an X/WR1.

Bottom line, he's good, better than every other WR we happen to have in the room, but he's not a true X. If he was, he'd still be in NE. Or, he would've been picked up by any other team in the league. Which is great for us in the short-term, but we need better/faster and more durable/reliable.

Worthy is a rookie. Who knows how Juju knee will hold up.

Kelce took a beating last game. Need to have him fresh for the playoffs. We lose another receiver you are looking at Sky as your starting receiver.

We need another receiver.

A normal Brett move will do, nothing cap/draft busting

Sadly I agree with BWillie.

The WR room is dangerously thin at this point. Another injury and suddenly we're elevating Remigio/Ross and Skyy Moore is getting significant snaps again. If you care about this season enough to want to patch that hole, trading the 3rd makes sense and is pragmatic.
