Whether Mahomes is a generational QB is yet to be seen... he's only 22. His arm certainly is...and he already did what Alex rarely could accomplish...bring KC back at the end of a game.
One thing we do know...if KC had kept Smith, there would be no Hitchens, Watkins and Fuller. Peters would be gone. Chiefs would be staring at a 9-7 record and essentially repeating last year. They were never going to get to a SB with him...and he couldn't generate anything when it mattered most against the Titans. That was his moment to prove they should keep him and he flopped...
Yes, the defense sucked in the 2nd half but it just illustrated Alex's limitations. He cant and never has been able to carry a team.
