At least Elway's misses still contribute to the team. Dorsey's 2014 draft is one of the worst I've ever seen and his 2016 draft had guys in it like Russell and Kevin Hogan.
A draft with a double digit sack artist, one of the best pass blocking G's in football and a decent backup G who has started several games is a horrible draft?
You need a mirror Knowmo. Denver's 2013 draft was far worse. [Reply]

Dee Ford was invisible for more than half of your games last year. LDT is an overpaid bum, and Elway has drafted plenty of backup lineman. You don't get credit for drafting "decent backups".
The 2013 draft as whole was bad, and the only reason the Chiefs did even halfway decent is because they had the first pick in every round. [Reply]

This doesn't include any UDFA's, correct?
And, some of those guys in the first 3 drafts ... it's not like they're out of the league, they're on other teams. Shit happens.
That's strictly drafted guys currently on the roster.
Good GMs build through the draft, develop their talent and keep as many of their own players as possible and rarely make big FA signings.
Elway is above average in the draft, runs coaches out of town and can't re-sign his own talent.
I mean, seriously...the 3 guys he still has from his first 3 drafts are a HOF quality pass rusher (that only signed because he got a contract worth 115m with 70 guaranteed) that publicly dissed Elway

A backup tight end
A DE with severe neck problems.
That's not the work of a great GM, sorry.
You're right, he's terrible. :-) Glad you guys finally have a good one. [Reply]

LDT would have been Denver's best lineman last season. [Reply]

Dee Ford alone was better than your entire draft class in 2013. All of those players are JAG's.
The Chiefs drafted Travis Kelce in the 3rd rd of that draft. Denver passed on him twice :-) [Reply]

LDT being overpaid is an argument you could have made a few days ago, but after seeing Day 1 of FA, I'm not really sure that is much of an argument now.
And he is not a bum, he is AT WORST league average and pretty good on his better days.
As LoneWolf already pointed out, he was better than any guard on your roster last year. [Reply]
