How is that not tampering?
KC got a third taken away for talking directly to Maclin during the legal tampering period and not strictly his agent...but Romo can personally fly to Denver to meet with Elway and that's not tampering?
That didn't happen. It has been confirmed by many different people (with photos) that Romo attended the Mavericks game last night and then went to Dirk Nowitski's post 30,000 point after-party. [Reply]

Why would you delete the part of the post that explains the difference between legal tampering and a violation of the rule, only to say it's ok to do so?
John Elway even speaking to Romo about anything to do with playing for Denver right now is a direct violation of the rule.
The same rule KC lost a third rounder for last year. [Reply]

KC was fined for speaking with Maclin before he was officially a free agent in a year that his contract was up. [Reply]
Cowboys if anything would prefer to have trade value out of Romo. Otherwise, they let him go to free agency and get nothing in return but cap relief. Maclin on the other hand was in position to receive offers from the Eagles and any other team. Big difference. [Reply]

There was some discussion about that on Andrew Brandt's podcast that kind of inferred that the Eagles snitched on KC. I bet Reed's old boss wasn't too happy to lose Maclin the way he did to the guy he fired. [Reply]

Isn't it illegal to have contact with another player on a different team that is under contract before the FA period starts? [Reply]
