This is a massive hole that is filled for the #chiefs. Trent McDuffie is considered by almost everyone as the 3rd best CB in this draft. The first two went off the board at 3 and 4.
The @Chiefs make a big move for a top CB (and my model's #8 overall prospect) in Trent McDuffie, who allowed 3.1 yards/target in 2021 at Washington (best in FBS, min. 30 targets).
Could be a key piece to counter the wealth of receiving talent in the AFC come playoff time!
That's some crazy shit to be able to see that on the jumbotron, while you are running full speed and covering somebody and make the play like that in a split second. That's some serious skill. [Reply]

The jumbotron is always a tick behind real time too so it's even more impressive. [Reply]
It literally takes a perfect pass or OPI to beat him these last few weeks.
He gave up a couple receptions today where he had as close to perfect coverage as you could possibly have and it took an absolutely perfect pass/catch combo to get him. You've just gotta tip your hat to the opponent when that happens. They're getting paid too.
Such a good hitter and disrupter too, especially for his size. [Reply]
I remember listening to Sirius radio SB preview and they had Albert Breer on. This is just a crazy story.
Veach, Spags and Merritt all loved McDuffie. They had resigned themselves to thinking he would be picked around 18-20. When the Patriots were on the clock the Chiefs called just to see if it was even possible. It was essentially a cold call.
Breer said the Chiefs were absolutely beside themselves in shock that Bill wasn’t going to take McDuffie. Breer said the scouts all loved him in NE but Bill felt a little uneasy about McDuffie being able to play outside full time. He liked him but didn’t love him.
Veach mentioned the Bills were trying to trade up and Bill knew it. He agreed to trade and the rest is history. We jumped Buffalo and they got Cole Strange.
Breer said Veach and the entire staff were so sure of McDuffie like they were Mahomes.
Guess it wasn’t a total loss bc Bill got Gonzalez the next draft and he’s a top 10 corner. But man [Reply]

Surely this information came out after the fact? I can’t imagine GMs give up this kind of insider info on their internal thought process on draft night. [Reply]
